What a humble and God fearing player. Thanks Mr Alois for bringing these inspiring legends. I am impressed by Evans's conduct especially when he was being ill treated...he still cooked sadza for his "enemy" lol. Hey Evans may The Good Lord whom you have boldly and openly acknowledged take you to a higher stage in the football world so that you can do greater exploits and proclaim His power the more. I can't wait for part 2
My perception of this guy completely changed after watching this interview. A very decent and likeable character. All the best Evans. I enjoyed listening to every minute of the interview. I just hate you for the way you used to terrorise my beloved Bosso hahaha.
Siyabonga kakhulu Evans good interview. In your hard times you faced under Gorowa I believe there was a third party from the board that was inciting war between you and Gorowa
so sad how he was treated with his fellow country man, I thought I saw another player complaining about the same coach. All the same thanks Alois for these interviews. The interviews have easily turned into motivational sessions, how I wish every Zimbabwean could watch this whether they like football or not because there is so many lessons in this, personally I have learnt about success, perseverance, vision the downside of jealousy and resentment and the spirit of scarcity mentality
These interviews really helps, for sure Gwekwerere akangopisa short time and disappeared. From there it came many versions kuchinzi aiwa nemushonga what what, many things.
wooooooow brilliant story Gwekwerere bhora Even VaMugabe ask, kuti chinonbonzi Gwekwereri chìiii mufana akapisa uyu I don't want to lie. But we ddnt hear what was really happening kuDembare dressing room. but anyway we are enjoying the Show. We Want Gorowa Next Please.
Mufana Maromo. Saw you grow up Ku Mbare kuma New Lines . Sad how these junior social clubs are no longer as dedicated to producing these kind of players
It makes sense. Maybe they should put subtitles for the benefit of our fellow countrymen who don’t quite understand Shona or Ndebele depending on the situation.
When I read the Gorowa issue with Gwekwerere I thought it was a lie but that was very cruel and heartless of you Mr Gorowa I withdraw the respect I had for you sh***t
Gwekwerere was notorious for indiscipline ku SA. Akatozonodzingwa ku Jomo Cosmos although he saved them from relegation onthe last day. Vakamuti, yu are good but rova pasi. I might be wrong but he is not clean. By then anonzi ku training aisatoenda achiti isu tinogona.
We must first shun envy and jealous among each other if we are to develop as a country. No amount of politics or economics will help the country if we have the Gorowa syndrome in us
Your story is never complete Evans if you don’t mention Mudhara Katema He was the foundation for all our achievements. Your record for doubling games was later broken by your lil brother Elwyn then by Hardy Zvirekwi
What I see is first ma vet haana secret and probably the owner we Swallows wanted Evans to succeed Gorowa and told Gorowa that then Gorowa akaita jealous
I think I need some serious education on the meaning of the word "legend" . This guy falls far short of my understanding of the word. He only played +/-9 league games for Dynamos. I admit he had so much impact during those games. His positioning, ball control, physic, dribbling, eye for goal skills were on point. To me he was our answer to Wayne Rooney who was on the rise in the English Premier League then. Then something went terribly wrong. He was over-hyped by the local media, with Robson Sharuko leading way. Let's remember that when Gwekwerere burst onto the scene the local premier league had no sponsor. The teams had to depend on matchday takings. Dynamos, being the biggest team in the land, has a big financial influence on all the teams in the league. In their wisdom, or lack thereof, the media had to create a "Hollywood" superstar in the mould of David Beckham, whom the crowd could follow. They settled for none other that Evans Gwekwerere. The front page of the Monday Herald for example, would carry the headline " Makwavarara fired" referring to the then Harare Mayor(ess) and the back page would have " Gwekwerere Demolishes Highlanders". Who wouldn't buy the paper and itch to see Gwekwere in action in the next match? I personally thought the guy would have been a good candidate for a direct soccer export to the UK or Europe. But alas! We ignored our own adage "Regai dzive shiri mazai haana muto" Robson and Co. turned into marketing agents and secured a move for the half-baked Gwekwerere to the no-so-competitive South African Premier League, through Swallows, then coached by Garvin Hunt. When Hunt was fired at Swallows he was replaced by Ian Gorowa, a fellow Zimbabwean. Being the professional that he was, Gorowa chose not to be blinded by the patriotism veil, He (Gorowa) saw Gwekwerere for what he was ( a mediocre player) and decided to let him go. The rest, as they say, is history. One or two more seasons at Dynamos would have helped mould the player into the class of |Moses Chunga , or better, but Rob and Co. spoiled the dish. Never underestimate the power of the media. I rest my case.
Yaa aripo macoaches akadaro anouraya career yevamwe pamwe ipapo paive nema players ake ayimupa mari kuti vatambe so Ian Gorowa wanted Gwekwerere to say mdara ndokuitira chii nditambe bhora
Good interview by Evans. He seems like an honest boy who just wanted to play his football. But Ian Gorowa seems like the ultimate a$$hole. Why not support your fellow countryman in a foreign land? The boy was also playing well, so Ian didn’t make sense at all. I hope he sees this interview.
Ian Gorowa was a player agent. And these agents would ask for bribes in the back ground. Rumour has it that he used to do the same when he was a national team coach for Zimbabwe
@@dankilloe7924 that’s rather unfortunate. A person like that should never be anywhere near the National team. Wasn’t he involved in that “Asiagate” saga?

Me too ,honestly i wasnt expecting such calm and decency from him 👌👌
Siyabonga kakhulu Evans good interview. In your hard times you faced under Gorowa I believe there was a third party from the board that was inciting war between you and Gorowa
