Wow, a life saver!! As an American woman who married a Nigerian Yoruba man, after visiting Nigeria I fell in LOVE with moi moi. But, watching it being prepared was "insane" lol Thanks to your Video I can now enjoy that taste again in America.. 5 STAR!
There is a novel automatic beans peeling machine in Nigeria now.Its called the LACHI BEAN PEELER
You can get it on Konga or Jumia
Sometimes I watch your videos just to hear you talk. You are a very funny lady! 😂 Thanks for the videos! And keep that humour coming.
Thanks will try this
I’m gonna give it a trial today. I have already soaked my beans waiting to peel... Thanks a bunch for this wonderful drop.
I love how you narrate! Your comic tone is so amazing!
I love your humor, thanks
This really helped me!!! It’s super fast and effective . Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for sharing. I'll definitely try it
Great! I will try this method with my mung beans.
Now I can make gbegiri. Thank you for this great tip!!!
You are sensible madam God bless you.
They way you simplify cooking is second to none.
Daalu Nwanne mmadu! You too :))

Ok wow... so I'm gonna have to start this the day before or early in the morning for dinner...
I love making akara but the bean peeling was always soooo time consuming--I can't wait to try this method! Thanks for all your great posts!
Akara & Moi Moi here we come! :)))
wow..thank you so much.
wow! thanks for sharing.i neva thought one could use blender to peel beans, this is brillant.
Exactly. At first I thought it would blend the beans or at least half-blend them but that did not happen at all. Enjoy!
i never thaught of using a blender to peel beans your a genious! another good idea for a lazy cook like me.
You are not lazy dear. Any method that makes life easier for us and does not alter the meal is better than slaving in the kitchen. :)))
Thanks for this tip Flo. I've heard of this method but never told to add enough water to avoid blending the beans. I'm going to try it soon. Thanks again.
Ahhh, if you don't add water the beans will be crushed. :)) I hope you have tried it. oluwatamiloreify
God bless u so much. I used your method to make moimoi for Christmas and I felt like giving u a hug. I call it moimoi without tears. Thanx so much. Merry Christmas
God bless you too lhoyce :) Reall Moi Moi without tears! chai! I'm glad it worked for you.
Ha!!!!! I have been traumatized by beans peeling since I started cooking as a young girl and moi moi happens to be my favourite food. From now on no need to deprive my husband from moi moi any more cos I'm too scared to do the peeling!!!!! Thank you so much.
+Christiana Ojiako lol @ traumatized. That ordeal will now be a thing of the past.

Thank you so much for this video! I wish I saw this last week. Lol. I will try it next time! :-)
You're welcome. There are still lots of Moi Moi and Akara to be prepared in the future. LOL
Thank you
on point.
Thank u for sharing this tip. This how I do it and we eat moi moi in my house at least every 2 weeks. Hubby loves it:)
O yes! With this method, I'm sure you will always look forward to making Moi Moi. Well done!
Thanks so much for this. I'm surely going to try this and give you a feed back.
Meanwhile, apart from moi moi and akara, which other meal requires the back to be peeled?
Genius tip! Now I don't have to buy the more expensive ready peeled beans! Thanks again x
You're welcome mumplus2 :)
I prefer the ready peeled beans. saves time. I find peeling time consuming and labourious.
Does it give same result and taste like fresh one? so to cook you need to saok for a long time. Please enlighten me biko
Thanks for the upload, but please I would like to know how to make moi-moi and a karaoke using already made beans flour.
thank you
I do something similar. I pour the hard beans in small batches into a blender, chop option in my blender for a 2-5 seconds.then I soak the beans for about 30 minutes in hot/warm water, the drain of the black skin.
how do you get rid of the black afterwards? And how long does this part take for you?
Hoh everything is gonna b easier for me wen cooking
:))
Can we after peeling and blending can we store in d fridge or freeze
I want to use it the next morning for akara
yes
Thank you for this I like akara but find it very difficult to peel the beans because Malaysia beans is very hard to peel,I use to soak for 2days.
Bojan Alexandra 2 days? Awww.
That was quick
This will be great for de-hulling soybeans or garbanzos for making Indonesian tempeh, too!
Sure nanaverm :)
hi,you mentioned at the end of the video that if we wanted to make moi moi we had to sock the beans for 3 more hours. just to clarify, you sock it the first time to peel the skin and then a second time before its blended for moi moi?
Yes, that's how long you need to soak it to guarantee that a kitchen blender grinds the beans into a smooth puree. If your blender can grind the beans well without the need to soak again, then you should skip the 3-hour soaking. So the length of time depends on your blender: 1 hour, 2 hrs etc
All Nigerian Recipes thank you.
what kind of beans can i use in making akara outside nigeria
kenneth ebuka black eyed beans, the type I used in the video is more common outside Nigeria.
Wow, what an easy way for peeling beans, I am from East Africa and we make something called "Bajia" and you need to peel the beans, but with your method of using a blender, I will be making it more often in my home now. Thank you.
I'm glad this video will help put more Bajia on your table. :D Maureen Omollo You're welcome!
I love u!!!!
I love you too Ayeesha Pereira :)
Wow😂
15 min kini
Please what do I do?. I left my beans soaked for two days. Can I still use it Flo Chinyere
Once it does not smell, it's still good to be used.
@@FloChinyere Alright. Thanks alot ma
can you please describe what you're doing when you're finished peeling off all the beans in the blender? Its not that clear to me, thank you very much.
I was decanting the skin of the beans. When you pour a generous quantity of water into the bowl containing the beans, the skin (which is lighter in weight) will float to the surface. That way, only the skin will go into the second bowl with a sieve. Then repeat the process till all the peels are separated from the seeds.
what is "decanting"? Sorry, lol.
All Nigerian Recipes ok, the blending part worked out ok, and the decanting part was great! We still had to peel off a lot of black with our fingers, but not nearly as much as in the past. It was still a pain though, lol. Either way, I'm please that we seem on the verge of finishing in one night, instead of like 4 nights minimum as we've done in the past. Thank you so much!
***** LOL @ 4 nights! Glad it worked for you! :))
Na wa ooo!!! You don save my life mama!!! My poor lil fingers go rest now Thank God!!! Is there any posible way to click d subscribtion button more than once??? :D I helo madam
I'm glad those fingers have been rescued! Karolina Pidło lol @ clicking the subscribe button more than once!
Hello p0
I would have trouble wasting all the skins. I would probably turn them into powder and cook it with rice.
lol. Good luck with that.
I would toss the skins in a soup or blend them into a similar recipe as the moi moi with different seasoning. There's lot's you can do with the skins.
good ma , i would like to know ,if you have a video on the preparation of beans itself, not moi moi not akara but beans ,i would be so happy if you do have a video.
good day ma
Yes I do, I have a Beans Porridge video on my channel. :)
can you please share the link .
jake carles here you go: ruclips.net/video/1xxo9dGIgWc/видео.html
I tried this and it didn't work out... Beans in Qatar is so annoying... In Nigeria with my hands I can peel beans easily..
best method is to buy already peeled dry beans
Nah, there's a huge difference between freshly peeled beans and peeled and dried beans. :D
The taste ain't the same dear
how long did it take you to peel the black parts off with your fingers afterward? My mother takes almost a WEEK. And she always insists on starting just before Christmas, no matter what I tell her about starting earlier! Argh!
From putting the first batch into the blender to when all the skin was removed - 15 minutes! Super fast. There were just a few unpeeled ones so it took no time at all to rub them off with my fingers. :))
All Nigerian Recipes thanks. I'll try to talk my mom into trying this your way.
All Nigerian Recipes good news. My mom and I are trying your method tomorrow. She's pretty skeptical, but we're doing it. :)
This doesn’t work at all. I soaked soybeans overnight and followed this tutorial and after two less that one second pulses in the blender they were destroyed. I guess if you don’t want whole beans this is fine but it was not even close to working
You caused this by soaking them overnight... She said soak for 1 hour....
Thank you
