- Save yourself $180.00 and do it yourself. Took approximately ten minutes to install. You are required to buy a remote that activates the remote start that will work as a car entry key also. Bring all your remotes to the dealer because they will need to be reprogrammed.
Great job dude!
Sweet! Thank you!
So just to be clear. If I buy the relay and the 4-button key fob for my 2020 atlas se, it should work. I’ll just have to go to the dealer to program new key?
Thanks for sharing! Any idea if this would affect warranty in any way?
And did you need to replace the key FOB as well to have the remote start button?
No it didn’t affect the warranty. Had to buy a remote that had the remote start option.
@@dennis17116 How did you program the key FOB with the car? How does that work
Hey I just came across this video. I have quick question, I hope you can answer..
If I buy this relay and have i install it. Will I have to buy a 4 button key fob and have the dealership program it? The reason I am asking is that my local dealership is trying to sell me a extended range kit 420.00 plus 3 hours of labor.
Which I don't want to have a separate fob for the remote start only. I'd prefer a new key fob with the 4 buttons for the remote start.
I'm hoping you or someone has some insight
@@mohammedalali936 sorry for the late response. I had the dealer program the remote.
Did you change fobs? Or use the old one?
Had to buy a fob with remote start option and had to be programmed.
Does it work with the regular Key Start Atlas,
My 2018 atlas is base model and does not have the start button there is a Key on the Fob that you traditionally turn to start the car.
Will it work with mine also if I bought this new Relay and bought and programmed a new key-fob.
Have u head if it will work?
Heard
Will this work for 2018 VW tiguan S model ? Let me know thanks . Got link for my vehicle ?
Not sure sorry.
Do u need a new remote?
Have the same problem with my 2020 cross sport se. In less than 6 months, it went dead again. Thanks to you, I’m very confident I can do it again. For under 20 bucks a relay I can live with that.
Where are you finding relays for under $20?
I found it on Ebay. Don't think you'll find it at that price anymore. Those days are way gone. Since January of 2020. Heck, even food has gone up. It's all for the climate @@TheCMacDougall
So once I install this relay. All I need is to take the keyfob with the remote start option to program the key for me correct?
Did you have to go from a 3-button remote to a 4-button with remote start icon?
Hi, I have 2018 Tiguan SE and I got new remote start kit, same as you show, how do you get adaptation after change new relay
Need to have the dealer program it.
@@dennis17116 done it with odis, works good
@@1976Valeriy will explain how, please?
Does this apply to a 2022 Jetta SE?
Sorry for the late response. I’m not sure.
Do you need to reflash anything and do you need to have the keys reprogrammed?
Yes keys have to be programmed.
Needed to buy a fob with the remote option and yes dealer had to program it.
Pretty simple, but if you buy a part with keyfot it os $400 + how much they charge for key programing?
I just called they charge $150 however from shopping around the kit is actually more than just purchasing the key fob($117 roughly) and remote start relay($145 roughly) separate. Doesn't make sense to purchase kit in one if they key and remote start dont come already programmed. Only downside is the key fob wont come with the valet key ($70) bucks however just giving the valet the key fob is the same difference.
The remote start kit is like 260 at my local dealer and installation is 265. Right now they have a special where installation is free so it would just be 260 for the parts and key. Pretty good deal
I had mine done for free.
Do you know if this would work on a 2019 se atlas. ?
