btw... thanks Bob for your introducing us to the T5. You're amazing in how you teach us about the process of discovering what works... I totally trust you and therefore am a believer in the Taylor company and your guitars. Thanks again. pb
I have a T5Pro & aT5z and both are super cool. The saddle needs to sand down a little bit and make low action electric guitar feel. The assembly of different parts of T5 are accurately done and no buzzing at extreme low action.
I got a new T5...do u realize that no manufactuer (that I can find on the net) makes an A/B box that is foot switchable AND has both an XLR and 1/4" output? Do u know of one??
I can't wait to try a T5..I've been playing my Taylor 814CE for over 10 years (it still has the Fishman Blend system) and I still love it. I've since purchased a new Martin D41 and I love the warm, earthy acoustic sound of my Martin. BUT, I'm in need of a ele/acoustic that I can use in my band. I'd like to know, is the T5 going to sound as good as my 814CE while playing Fogelberg, James Taylor type of music? If the 1st position (acoustic) setting is close, I'd love to use it live Can'twait
I can only answer one part of your question... The T5 is not going to sound as good as your 814CE. First-off the guitar has electric strings, which are a smaller gauge than your full size acoustic strings. Also, don't try putting acoustic phosphor bronze strings to make it sound more like a full-size acoustic. That will only limit the electric capabilities of the guitar.
I have been to the mountain top and I have seen the Promised land.I will have you.GREAT Guitar !

Thanks for putting this up. Bob Taylor is so much more interesting to watch than television it is hard to quantify.

Played a lighty used T5 unplugged at a local shop and couldn't bring myself to put it down, it was so much fun!

What amp or amps do you recommend for this guitar? Maybe an A/B pedal is no longer necessary these days?
Did Jeff Goldblum record a voice over?
omg your right...
will this work with Nylong strings ?. I can't get a clear, crisp sound on G. -open. HI-E to close to be easily muffled. an option is a wide neck.
what if its a martin with x brace and wide nut and wide string space, with fretbar, and with brazzila rosewood with havier gauge strings, waw
Marc Seal - T5 Jam
so this guitar can play unplugged? How loud was it?
