    Spot on for the CG comments. I tried going aft with my battery by only 1/4" and the flight characteristics were noticeably worse. Overall, it's so much fun to fly

    I made 2 flights with my F-5 today and 2 flights on Monday. I put an AR637T in it for SAFE mode because my vision isn’t good enough to see its small wings when it’s at the ends of the field. I don’t use much AS3X gain on my EDF’s because they’re fast enough the turbulence doesn’t bother them very much. I usually start with 30, 40, and 50 percent on roll, pitch, and yaw and hardly ever increase it. My F-5 flies and looks great and isn’t really that hard to land. It just needs to land a little bit faster than the others. It’s one of my favorites..

    Nice review. I totally agree with you regarding CG. The front most side of the provided range works great. The model is very challenging to fly with the rear side, especially without gyros. I fixed the fuselage flex by adding some carbon tow at the junction between both fuselage halves.

    What are your thoughts on if I were to take out the landing gear to reduce weight and hand launch/belly land on soft grass? Do you think it has enough power?

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Год назад +1

      Hand launching might be difficult since it has a very high wing loading with stubby little wings. You won't get much weight reduction from removing the gear, and the full flying stabs will be exposed to anything on the ground that can tear them apart. You're better off sticking with the wheels.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, I mentioned it in the vid - I just didn't anticipate how much pitch oscillation I'd get at full throttle. I need to adjust the throttle to gain mix for pitch so there's less effectiveness at full speed.

    Nice videos and everything you said made us better rc pilot :D.. I have also one question.. You talked about airplane wing stall.. how do you know where the plane have that angle for stall it.. I flew the yak-130 70mm and suddenly he lost speed and fell down.. i cant do nothing.. i know i stall it but i was strange for me because i have speed :-).. I have su-30 and i scare to fly it just of these stall angle hehe :D.. how can i improve that problem :D.. best regards from europa

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 года назад +1

      So that's the thing, you don't really know what the critical AoA is - you just intuitively feel it out and get an idea of how hard you can pull the aircraft into a turn or a loop before it begins to experience an accelerated stall. Accelerated stalls happen even with a lot of airspeed - like I said in the upload, wings can stall at any airspeed. The faster you go, the more you can get, but the model does eventually hit critical AoA and break airflow over the wing if you pull too hard. You just have to test it out and see where the limit is, and then learn how to navigate around it while you fly.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 года назад +1

      It's very similar to landing an F/A-18 with full span flaps. Keep 25 to 50% throttle on approach with the flaps dropped, otherwise it will fall from the sky but look like it's flying level. We have a landing tutorial for it that should help: ruclips.net/video/rVByipJnC2E/видео.html
