Chain Lakes Loop - Mt Baker Wilderness

This 7 mile loop trail has it all: several alpine lakes, big views of Mt. Baker & Mt. Shuksan. There are several options for the loop. I chose to go clockwise on the loop starting at Heather Meadows Visitor Center taking the steep Wild Goose Trail up to Artist Point to start at the official trailhead there. It was easier to descend from Herman Saddle rather than climb it and I ended up at the parking lot at Heather Meadows. Lakes you'll see: Mazama Lakes, Iceberg Lake, Hayes Lake and Bagley Lakes. I took a dip in Iceberg Lake halfway through the hike and heard the crashing of ice breaking off & falling into the lake. Marmots called out as I passed through the talus slopes. This is now a favorite hike of mine. Thank you for watching.
