Thanks to your video i was able to change my dipped headlights but the one on the passenger seat didnt not turn on. i have a 2004 audi a4 1.8T. Can i switch the ballast to see if thats the problem or what can i do to fix myself?
Hey, great video btw. Does this also work on a 2005/2006 Audi A6 or you must take the bumper off ? mine is a Quattro and I will like to replace the stock with the aftermarket . thanks
O that's annoying, probably have to open the headlight to fix it. Maybe you can get it out out and glue it back together, because replacement parts for such things are almost non existent.
Which brand do you recommend for the headlights and for the bulbs to do the job right. I have Valeo aftermarket on it and from what I know Valeo made the Oem for Audi, are they the same?
***** Thank you very much for the kit to improve my A4 B6 built 2003.10 shipped with H7 Halogen! How to remove the headlights is easy when I have seen all 4 screws when changing H7 bulbs which is std maintenance and explained on several forums for years. - Question: I need to recode the computer in my car for the setting of the Bi-Xenon? I have VCDS (Vag-Com) software and cabling.
You should have shown the location of the other screw. Mine were hidden by some wires. 1:12 - that seems so easy, yet I couldn't get mine to pop off on the passenger's side :(
***** Thank you so much for your quick reply. I came across your video trying to prepare to remove the right headlight from my 2006 a4 cabriolet, to get access to replace the horn. Several descriptions, including yours, refer to two screws behind the light assy which need to be loosened, but I only seen one (plus the two obvious screws on the top), even after searching with a flashlight and moving wires, etc. around. I'm sure it's there - I'll keep looking. Thanks!
***** Finally got around to doing this today. I thought you (and others) might like to know that on a 2006 A4 cabriolet with Xenon headlights, there are only three screws: two on top, and one behind it. Remove the two on top, loosen the one in the back, and it slides right out. Not a case of one screw missing either; there is clearly no other fitting for a fourth screw.
It looks like the latch for the wire connector on mine is busted and the latch isn’t coming undone. It’s a lot dirtier and very stuck. Any suggestions/ideas? I yanked at it for a good hour without results
Sorry we don't have specific experience with this, maybe cleaning with a brush and a bit of WD40 will help. Or trying with a small flat screwdriver. Good luck!
Hey I don't know why you got some tape on your bumper It scared me. The paint wont go off? You might want to try painter's tape so the paint wont go off.
Nice, quick video...but all those damn pop ups make it hard to watch. I get it...you want thumbs up... One more thing...I have a B6 & the mfg date is January 05....so it's not just through 04.
You don't show the necessary tools or the location of the interior bolts you are removing. I like how the easy to understand portions are sped up and not dragged out but the rest of the video is lacking. The most important parts were omitted. If I wanted just the text tutorial, I wouldn't be watching a youtube video....
What the hell are you talking about? This video is perfect. I don't need to watch 1 min straight a guy removing the screw, how most of the vids are. This one shows exactly what you need.
Easy instructions. Unnecessary expense avoided. Thanks Retrofitlab!
Thanks, worked like a charm. Is the one on the right side just as easy?
yes should be the same indeed :)
exactly what i needed to know with no extra fussing round. perfect! 👍
With the exception of using Duct Tape, this was a good vid. Use painter tape instead...
i thinking exactly the same,, how to remove the paint ^^ use duck tape .. lol,, sure use painter tape are better,,
Really good video - well done guys!!!
Awesome video. Exactly what I wanted to see.
Screwdriver needed is a T30 Torx
Thank you
Is the procedure the same with a 2005 A6 Quattro or I have to take the bumper out ? thanks , great video btw
I did it today
easy like this thanks this made save my time
Is this the same process for a B7 a4? Great video by the way! also, I am trying to paint my light on the inside how do I take the cover off?
The video is fantastic. Congratulations. What is the key used?
thanks

or what else could it be?
sweet jesus! doing it this way looks way better than the ol'bumper removal. can this be done on the b6 4.2 s4 aswell?
Hey just curious if the method you've shown is similar for changing the bulbs on a 2007 a3? Thanks for the video!

HOW do you keep the plastic/hoses looking so fresh?!
One of the headlight top bolts is broken (just turning without coming out). Any suggestions how to get it out?

I had to take my intake out lol, my torx driver was too short. What exact tool are you using?

thank you very much for helping, but I have a question, I bought the T30 but I don't know where the screws are inside, can someone help me?
Sorry, how do you mean inside? There are only some on top and 2 on the rear.
@@Retrofitlab sorry, it's just 2 on the rear, where is it?
@@Retrofitlab can you send a picture where the rear screws are?
@@marquinhos27sp1 Sorry we do not have any pictures regarding these rear screws.
Thanks, made it easy.
Cheers
If you don't have any tape, I did fine by just sliding paper towels underneath the assembly and being careful.
Good one!
this may seem like a dumb question but, is it the same way on the B6 S4?
Thanks for helping me out

Long shot here, but can anyone recommend H7 LED conversions that fits in the OEM housing?
I have a 2004 Audi A8. Do I need to remove the bumper to change the bulbs??

Okay awesome thanks for the speedy response!
Does not show THE MOST IMPORTANT thing - where are the inside screws located??

Very nice of you. Thanks alot :)
Are those headlights original or aftermarket?
hallo, many ballasts sometime gives fault and lights on ABS, EPS, Brake on dashboard, how abaout your ballasts
Why do you use tape to take out the head lights? And how do I change the light bulbs themselves? :)
To protect the paint on the bumper.
thanks for the video ;)
Thank you so much!! :)

Well no duh, its the body model that changes things not the model/engine size
Lol you actually used duct tape, how much residue did you have to clean up
Useless video. There are many bolt hidden which this video not showing. Do not follow this video. You jave broken taps
For the love of god, Please do not use duct tape to tape your painted surfaces!
Amen brother, very good advice.
Bro you went WAY too fast!!!!
Sorry!
Falsches Klebeband!!!
Da könnte der Lack mit gehen.
