Hi Ruth. Love your videos, keep it up. The Buzz Off spray is great - 50% DEET, works well. Avon Skin So Soft USED to work, but they’ve changed the formula. The other things sadly don’t have any science behind them at all. Please keep up the good work with the great videos.
Hi Ruth, got myself a pot of the Vit E cream with lavender you mention, all I can smell is shea butter, not the lavender so don't think I'll smell too much like an old lady 😁 I did find the SSS worked before, just a light spray so not oily, then a light spritz of deet over the top before going out. Worked really well. I told my friend to go to your restaurant, not sure if he's been but he's still is out there at the mo. He'd love the views. xx

After being bitten by a mozzie my eye closed up,when i visited a friends restaurant in Cyprus she asked me what happened and poured me what I thought was their obligatory large Metaxa.Turned out it was malt vinigar for the eye which was then sprayed out like a demented fire eater.They were rolling on the floor holding their stomache's lcrying with laughter. xx

It will always have a special place in my heart! Enjoy having the car. Its the best way to see the west and north of the island. If you can, check out Aselinos and kriffi Ammos beaches. Can definitely vouch for Skin so soft. Never used lemon oil but have used tea tree in an oil burner I sometimes take with me if go peak season.. Remember getting eaten alive in Kouk in 2015
Oh my goodness Koukanaries is where I get bit the most on the island. I think the lagoon is a massive breeding ground for them! I like the idea of tee tree oil. Will give that a try definitely. I hope to see you on the island this year! Take care and sending you lots of love ❤️xxx
I can’t comment on repellants that work… I usually use Deet 🤷🏻♀️ however, I do have an old Caribbean - no chemical- trick for killing the itch if you do get bitten. This literally works in seconds- the itch goes immediately and you can repeat the next day if it starts to ‘fizz’ again. Get a mug of boiling water- put a teaspoon in it. When it’s hot, use the back of the spoon and tap it onto the bite and around it! When you cam stand it & it’s slightly cooled, press it onto the spot and hold it down- if necessary, repeat. You can do the same as often as necessary. (But the effect usually lasts 12-24 hours. Basically, you’re heating up and killing the histamine that’s under the skin that your body produces in response to the bite. Hope it works for you too. (I got some funny looks when I was there a few weeks ago when I asked for the. cup &spoon😂. PS. Nice to meet you at the restaurant Ruth. Sorry we didn’t make it back there for a meal- our plans changed for our last 2 days. There’s always next time. Xxx
