I remember that whipping post, it used to be right next to Hackney nick on Lower Clapton road, by St Johns church yard. Mothers Hospital, where I was born in 1972, and my old school Homerton (Upton) House school.
yep i used to climb on them also , morning side primary miss offord head teacher, hackney baths .sat morn pics at the pavillion , mare st , morris ,s toy shop on corner. pie mash from well street, playing football in the red oaker, facing hackney free school gone now massive oak tree right in the middle 15 story flats, salvation army on mare street,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, man where did those days go i blinked and now i am 69
Hope not to burst anyone's bubble, but if not for TG and Ind.Rec. i wouldn't have known where Hackney was on the map. Martello Street. The 3rd Industrial Revolution started there.

Walk through St John's Church Yard every day to Upton House school jumping the grave stones got told off alot left school in 1964 and london
