Thanks for explaining retail arbitrage with specific examples! It's in my 2022 sales plan to seek out specific brands I can't find locally. With respect to Poshmark, I think there are sellers who price items super low because they want to shed inventory quickly rather than maximize profit. I'm doing that to exit categories I don't want to stock as I have limited inventory space.
Great video as usual. I actually bought some stuff to resell that I found while following along. I've been binge watching your videos lately and cannot believe how much I've learned from your channel. I also purchased your reseller spreadsheet and have been using it now for two months and don't know how I managed without it. Love your channel!!!
This was a very well presented concept. I buy online and resell online. I prefer to "see it,, feel it, smell it," in person if possible. Online arbitrage is a viable option for me when I am injured or snowed in. I would like to add that I am DEALER FRIENDLY and there are many other like minded resellers. I am often contacted regarding discounts. When they tell me the item is for re-sell then I tend to accept lower offers if my item has been in inventory past its season. I want dealers to make money. They will spent that profit with me. I have no shortagevof opportunities to buy so my perspective won't work for everyone. I do not need to maximize the profit of every item.
Shipping costs kill it for me when it comes to online arbitrage. You can buy a box of rescue items for $20, but pay $20 for the shipping. I prefer to see it feel it too. I will go to buy/sell stores, Thrift stores, rummage sales, estate sales. I prefer to go retail arbitrage, the clearance racks. Right about now, THREDUP is taking up to 4 months to process bags unless you pay them $16 to speedup process. Also, note that Thredup has PAUSED accepting cleanout bags because they are behind. I don't think they will be accepting cleanout bags until after Christmas. Also, they may have a labor problem just like other places. Also, the RR takes 50% commission, so if you send in something that they price at $100, you get $50.
I loved this video!! I had to wait for a time where I could sit down and watch it. This wasn't one of those videos that you play in the background while you work, but I wanted to really focus and see what the strategy was. This was very helpful! I like doing online arbitrage as well, and sometimes I source on a thrift store website in a town nearby. Instead of getting the items shipped I pick them up next time I'm in that town thrifting. My best flip was a Trina Turk dress I got of $19.99 that sold full price for $125 on Posh! I look forward to trying out your strategy on some of this sites. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make this video for us.
Hello! Just subscribed after having seen several of your videos and really enjoy your content! Love your happy disposition too! I have to say this was a very helpful video for me, especially your process in finding possible products to resell. I have done that too but was nice to see someone else explain their methods in doing so. Would love to see more videos like this in the future. Maybe feature your success stories in online arbitrage as well as not so successful stories? Thank you!
As always with your videos, I feel like I just took a Business class in Reselling and I’m thrilled! I have learned SO much from your video content- it’s been invaluable to my own little reselling business and I can’t thank you enough!
The thing that blew my mind the most was that you also have "Sandy Liang" as the default item in the Thred Up search bar! Me too, LOL! Ahah, but in all honesty, super helpful as usually, especially the trick about the content fabric. Thank you!!
Thanks hun, I appreciate the tips and so funny we have similar taste n style the one blouse you were scrolling down looking for dresses, and I thought hey wait that's an adorable blouse I see you purchased it, best of luck on a quick sale...and thanks. I also wanted to mention about a year ago.u mention Scotch n Soda and I finally came across one online purchased and it sold in about a day, for great profit...hugs love you too and I try n watch all videos but not always have time to comment your my go to while driving or cross trainer workout💖
Got burned recently by ThredUp… they had a Veronica beard jacket listed as “good condition, minor wear to fabric” but there are FOUR of the buttons on the sleeve missing. 😭
What should you do if you find an item from a good brand but cant find any information on the item? Found some stirrup leggings by l'agence and cant find any information, now I'm not sure what to do with them.
If I try everything and cannot find it, I will typically pass. It may mean it’s such an old style that it was never sold online. Alternatively, you could look on Poshmark, ebay, etc and see if you can find comps for similar styles. But I will almost always pass for items I can’t find the style name for.
How are you able to use stock photos? On EBay, where I sell, that is NOT allowed (even though I see so many). I was cautioned once years ago, and have not done it since?
Thank you for all the reselling tips, I really appreciate it. It has helped me so much. What kind lights and back drop would you recommend? Thank you, again Hillary
I know you’ve commented on this before and not sure if you’ve ever made an entire video dedicated to this, but could you talk about the dynamic between resellers and the “woke” individuals who claim we are stealing from the weak & poor. I went to fashion/design school and can’t even tell you the number of times it was best to our head that clothing accounts for so much of the trash in landfills all over the world. Having to explain this to some people constantly is such a hassle but a video with sources & facts would surely school some of these people. I know that sounds rough but it’s taken a lot out of me as a seller of new and old pieces.
i actually bought a NWT adidas Ice Skating dress and my COG only ended up being 8$ because of some site credits they offered me, and I sold it for $100 on Depop to a buyer in New Zealand!
Can't know how I bumped onto this. All in all Damn good clip 🥇😎. I also have been watching those rather similar from MStarTutorials and kinda wonder how you guys create these vids. MStar Tutorials also had amazing information about similiar things on his vids.
Am I the only one that wishes you would stop telling QUITE so much about how to be a successful reseller?! I mean, sure, there’s enough to go around in theory, but for those of us who figured out good sourcing opportunities on our own, it sure makes it harder to keep finding those opportunities when everyone else now knows to do it too. :/

Random but your office looks super cozy with that window.

This helps explain why the prices vary so much when I am looking up comps.
Loved this one! Super helpful

Wow, one of those Madewell XXS listings was mine, I thrifted it just last month!
oops you spelled thred up wrong (when you said it). Thanks for the valuable info. Love your videos.
This was a great video. Thank you
So happy to hear! Thank you!
Just curious to know...what’s the most you’ve paid for an item through online arbitrage and was it worth the investment?
Got burned recently by ThredUp… they had a Veronica beard jacket listed as “good condition, minor wear to fabric” but there are FOUR of the buttons on the sleeve missing. 😭
Love Google Lens!!
It’s a life saver!

What are Bolo brands? Hope you read this.
BOLO stands for be on the lookout

Can you please explain the profit margin?
Hi Beth, is your expected profit after platform fees are taken out? That’s where Posh gets me, the 20%.
Do you typically only source items you can find a stock photo for?
i actually bought a NWT adidas Ice Skating dress and my COG only ended up being 8$ because of some site credits they offered me, and I sold it for $100 on Depop to a buyer in New Zealand!
Where or how do you research the specific styles and names of items? I never know where to look, mostly I find more general info.
Oh. I hadn’t reached that point in the video yet. But I also use Google and often don’t find anything.
For example I have a small white Mulberry bag to sell and I can’t find anything about it. Will have to go into Mulberry and ask.
