Hello Mr white, great information and thank you for answering my question. Also forgot to add that nepotism was actually frowned upon according to the employee handbook so the company is actually violating its own policy. HR is only here for damage control they are only there to cover up issues. Unfortunately HR was not helpful and ignored when I stated it’s violating it own nepotism policy and never got a response. Employee handbooks don’t mean anything.
@@JobAttorney so I think the issue in my situation would be favoritism stemming from nepotism. Family member of the manager gets “special treatment” and it’s pretty obvious. Yet no one speaks up in fear of job loss. I missed work due to serious family matter yet the family member missed the same amount of days of work due to personal non health reasons yet he was ok and I was fired. Could this be grounds for a wrongful termination case

I feel like this might be a joke at my expense. But I don't get it, so I'll google the definitions for you. Hope that helps!

Hello! Are companies only obligated to address harrasers? Or are they liable for people in management who knew about it and completely ignored it too?
Failures to comply with the employer's affirmative duty to investigate complaints would generally be punishable.

@@JobAttorney not a joke. I was thinking they might be "distant cousin" in a sense that the favoritism, one group towards another, could be similar.
So nepotism can be used as evidence in protected category cases. Like for example hiring racists to fill positions
There are situations where nepotism can aid your argument in a discrimination case, yes. But not always.
