    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    This week we're chopping into our 1962 C10 Stepside! We have our Porter Built C-Notch kit in the shop so we're getting ready to start fitting it up onto our stripped down frame. With a 60 year old frame, there are definitely going to be some issues getting these parts to all fit together. But it's nothing the team here can't handle as we get our LS swapped Chevy C10 ready for the Airlift Performance bags!
    Make sure to subscribe because next week we're dropping in our new rear end and getting our suspension fitted up. This C10 is getting off the chassis table and one step closer to driving down the road!

    For what it is worth, I think you should decouple the gas tank from the chassis via rubber or neoprene blocks given that Aluminium and steel expand at different rates.

    The channel is great. I do wonder the cost of the Porterbuilt parts plus the labor vs a full chassis from a place like Acme Chassis. How many hours of labor would you save starting out with a full chassis ? How would the total cost compare between the two set ups ?

    • @SalvagetoSavage
      @SalvagetoSavage  11 месяцев назад

      Full chassis is a little more expensive, but definitely adds more value in my opinion. I know lead time of a chassis is long so sometimes a front and rear drop member are the quickest way to get a built done.

    Why go to all that trouble when all that you seem to care about is how low you can get it ? Just drop it onto the stops and be done with it . No one will care about how it rides . Its never going to be driven further than on and off the trailer
