NORTON: Doncaster Parish #24 of 43

Time for one of Doncaster's largest parishes now, certainly in terms of area. This one covers no less than three villages too, all of which are wildly different from each other. This one's been coming for while and I know a lot of people out there wanted to see it, so hopefully I've done a good job!
Spanning an area more than twice the size of neighbouring Askern, there's more than a few things to see here, beginning with the signal box that used to allow access to Askern Colliery, before we walk down into the main village catching an antiques shop, two pubs and an old windmill, now converted into a house.
Arguably the most historical place in the parish, the second village sees us find the church where legend would have us believe Robin Hood married Maid Marian, before we swing down the main street admiring all the old houses and properties, including what is reputedly the oldest pub in Yorkshire. A walk across a country park just adds to the already flavourful cocktail of things we see in one village alone.
Not stopping at that though, the smallest of the three still has to offer us a dairy farm, and another pub, and all three villages have characteristics that you just don't find anywhere else in Doncaster - or at least up in the rural North of the borough - encircling on three sides the former coal mining town where most of the residents of these three villages will likely go shopping.
You've got to have some stamina to attempt to film this parish. This took a lot out of me, but nevertheless, I loved every second of my time in the parish of NORTON.
