So cool to be able to test the tent like this. I will be placing a fairly big order in the next couple of weeks, this being included. Thanks again for the content.
Deppend on the trip I guess, for an expedition in extreme weather maybe the Polycotton, but I know too the Vern 1 Silnylon perform outstanding in bad weather too, and it weights less than PC, so its a hard choice to be honest.
Thanks for the video Daniel, One thing I'd not considered with this design and I wonder if it could be tweaked would be to make the end vents higher from the ground so they don't get blocked by heavy snowfall so easily. I think this is an ideal winter design apart from that. Many winter tents have higher placed vents such as Hilleberg ( and my own North Face Assault ). A
I could ask NorTent, it might be improved on the next Vern Design, but regarding the breathability of Polycotton i dont think it will much of a problem. Im pretty sure not a problem in Snow, since its dryier more insulating than rain and humidity.
All very interesting. This Vern 1 PC looks great. With a PC tarp over it for plenty room and a fire nearer than you would a Poly version; and when you need that extra security, it's there. Dyneema is great, but I can't stand the rustling noise. I'd be interested in Nortent doing a 1-man Tipi. Poly and PC (if it was still only 3.5kg)...
Good comments and points. 1 one tipi would be great, I often do the 4 Lavvo since its has enough room for setting up a chair inside while cooking food.
@@DanielOutdoors Yes, that would be the goal of a proper 4-season, 1-man, lavvu: JUST enough room for an ultralight chair in the porch. I love the idea of getting the Vern PC's one-peice solution to a 1-man lavvu, but the weight would be too much. Another solution to bringing weight down is an even smaller flu-stove: a Bush Buddy style stove with a chimney...
Well in Norway we do get very harsh weather in the mountains, and expedition and polar tents able to actually withstand storms normally weight around 3-6 kg
The 4K and HD render should be ready in about 40 minutes from now.
@El-Jefe i think its the Mountain Hardware Ghost Whisper 2
Sounds like some interesting tents coming up. Two person Polycotton Vern tent with stove port would be perfect.
Vern 2
@@marvellis6762 Not Polycotton, they made a PC version of the Vern 1 so I’m hoping they make PC version of the Vern2.
Yeah I hope that happens. These Verns I find outstanding! 4x4 of tents

This is a cool tent! Thanks for the review.
An interesting tent. Which do you prefer - the vern 1 or Vern 1 PC?

Vern 1 PC. Beyond phenomenal!
Would be fun with a jervenduk episode! Keep up the good work😊

Love it!
Awesome gear-room! Can you recommend comfort tent for a family?

How well does that tent fit in to a backpack?
Surprisinly better than most
@@DanielOutdoors wow. I like the tent and might be getting one for next summer.
Nice to be able to test on backyard😊
Indeed
With its heavy weight, I wouldn't use it for anything other than a drive up campground. But if I'm driving up, why not just use an even bigger tent?

A great tent, but I wonder if this man has ever erected a tent before?
Lol, since I was at least 10 year old...
My brother got one very heavy tent
It is, super strong though. But thats why we have the little brother Vern 1
