- I walked for a long time and searched for a camping spot for a long time, but fate gifted me with finding this wonderful rock. I cooked a delicious meal and went to bed at -20°C. It was a wonderful trip - I forgot all the problems and bad news. Pour hot tea or coffee and enjoy winter camping.
I also recommend watching with headphones to better feel the atmosphere. For those who like to watch videos with music, I recommend the soundtrack for the film "Into The Wild".

the place with the fire is better than any tent ,the wall behind with the fire make like 20 degree and very warm place safe from cold and wind
Try crua cocoon ot something like that name. Insulated tent. Put like 20 chemical hand warmers inside and it is warn the entire night. Its heavy af though....
Be careful of brittle/weak/cracked rocks exposed to heat. My uncle woke up with hypothermia camping like this after the boulder cracked from heat and a large shard hit his head knocking him out.

I have many times in North ga mtns. The rock retains heat if you burn it long enough. Its like a heater at night. Ive never had a problem.
He didn’t either. How would he keep the sausage and vegetables from freezing over night? Don’t say the fire because there is no way is was hot enough at these temps.

In that situation I would have put the fire a little closer to the rock to heat up and act like a radiator. Works great.
