    I personally did not get offered shipping to my door on my 30 panel ground mount. I was told all Chiko products had to be shipped by a specific carrier to their local terminal. It cost an additional $350.00. I was responsible for picking it up. This entailed me renting a box truck with a lift gate. $85.00 and picking it up at the carrier terminal. The carrier loaded it with their forklift but when I got it to the house, the liftgate was useless because of the length. I could not turn it sideways to get it on the liftgate. I had to unload it peace by peace by hand. It was not that big a problem since I had 3 additional people helping. The lift gate did come in handy for the powerwall batteries and the inverter. However, the 31 panel pallet of solar panels was a no go for the lift gate. They were huge. 2900 lbs. No way to maneuver them onto the lift gate. Luckily I have a heavy duty tilt trailer that I carried back to the carrier and they loaded them. I was able to use two palletjacks and gently off load them using the tilt feature of the trailer. Enough about my receiving problems. The Chiko Ground mount appears to be well built and of sturdy galvanized steel. I was impressed by the thicknesses of all the parts. It's seems to be a complete kit with all the bolts, nuts, panel fasteners, grounding lugs, etc. A word of caution to those considering purchasing the large format, 30 panel ground mount kit. Check your areas wind or snow loads and consult the install manual. My municipal wind load is 120 mph. I had to purchase additional uprights to the tune of another $350.00. However, I am still happy with my purchasing the Chiko. Please send the rest of my uprights!

    What is the wind rating for the carport?

      Hi! So there are 2 options for the carport. The one spoken about in the video (linked below) is the Maximo 185. It is tested for up to 185 MPH. signaturesolar.com/chiko-maximo-185-steel-solar-carport-gazebo
      The other model, Premier Residential Steel Carport (linked below) is rated for 150 MPH. signaturesolar.com/chiko-usa-premier-residential-steel-carport-black-solar-pergola-solar-gazebo/

    Can you DIY install the carport system or required to hire an pro to do it?
    Are there specs for the footing?

    • @SignatureSolar
      @SignatureSolar  19 часов назад

      It's best to have a professional handle the foundation work, as the surface needs to be flat, and the footers must be set to spec for proper mounting. However, once the foundation is in place, the rest of the installation is straightforward. A two-car carport typically takes a four-person crew about eight hours to assemble, including the solar panels. For footing specifications, we recommend reaching out to Chiko for the engineering report.

    No way I'm watching a 30-minute video on a solar panel mounting system. What's that? Oh, cool! Sounds like this solution is targeted at large-scale deployments, not individual homeowners. I'm out.

      Thank you so much for your feedback! We have many homeowners purchase these carports, not solely to cover their cars but as pergola or other shading solutions for their residential homes :)

      @@JessicaGray-signaturesolar - In the video, he said they were shipped "in bundles". You can get just the parts to build one pergola?

      Yes, you can just purchase one carport.
