@@PerfectVocalsAcademy dude….i am currently working on a project and I was using the combination of the 1176-LA2A….it sounded ok….but after watching your video I decided to combine the distressor at a 4:1 ratio into the DBX 160 and instantly my vocals were in the pocket….all my vocals….i shoulda tried this earlier…I knew about it but thought since then the 1176-LA2A may have been the better route considering its popularity….i was wrong by a landslide….thank you!
The low mids go away the more you turn up the compression knob. I remember on the Uad version, that’s what happens. Kinda makes it more tighter and bit brighter sounding
I use this all the time it always gets attention I don't know why that title was made, I use UAD and Waves version what ever mood I'm in, Dr Dre and mixed by Ali use this allot this and the SSL 4000E.
Dbx 160 on everything in my mix. Excellent
Definitely! Thanks for tuning in
This compressor makes a huge difference. Specially for this music style...
The Vertigo VSC-2 is another cool option...
Yep, it does! I’ll have to try that one out too
Use this mf on literally every vocal channel in the mix. My secret weapon to be honest.
That’s awesome man, cool to know many are using this on vocals. Thanks for watching 👏🏻
I used this compression on a vocal yesterday i was flabbergasted, i had to come check how producers use it. Thats how i got here
Dre’s compressor and I gotta say…you can hear his style of vocal here, well done
Thanks man! Appreciate you tuning in!

You’re welcome, thanks for watching
Dr Dre's vocal compressor of choice, works great for rap.
Didn’t know that, very cool!
For Rap Vocal is OK but the 2 places for me that always works are Bass and Snare
👍🏻
