It was a great Mom and Son moment. I could see even Gar liked it! I liked him. I wish Rocky could have lived and his mom would marry Gar. Three of them would be happy and Gar would be a great Dad figure for Rocky.

I had a copy a while ago that did include this song. I sold it when I bought a director cut copy. The earlier copy also had Bob Seger music instead of Bruce Springsteen songs. The movie ended with the song Roll Me Away. A more appropriate song about riding motorcycles.

Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah". She had a ruby on her tummy and A diamond big as Texas on her toe, wo wo. She let her hair down and She did the hoochie koochie real slow, wo wo, When she did her special number on a zebra skin, I thought she'd stop the show, wo wo, Singing, "Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah!". She did a triple somersault and when she hit the ground, She winked at the audience and then she turned around. She had a picture of a cowboy tattooed on her spine, Saying Phoenix, Arizona, nineteen forty-nine. Yeah, but let me tell you people, Little Egypt doesn't dance there anymore, wo wo. She's too busy mopping and A taking care of shopping at the store, wo wo. 'Cause we got seven kids and All day long they crawl around the floor, wo wo, Singing, "Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah! Yeah yeah! Glad they didn't put this in. When singers/actors are in movies 90% of the time they always have to sing somewhere in the movie. I'm glad Cher just acted and didn't involve her other talent. She nailed this part and was incredible.

I'm not sure why its deleted. I can think of only three reasons. 1) It doesn't "move" the story along enough as it doesn't directly related to Rocky 2) Copyrights of Little Egypt (which is essentially an Elvis song---watch Roustabout) 3) Shortens the length of the movie to the allotted time frame.
I can think of only one reason why this scene was deleted! It was so fucking stupid that it was almost embarrassing to watch with other people in the room.
It was pressure from the real Rusty Dennis. They cut out "Kathmandu" by Bob Seger which was a great song and fitted the mood of the film perfectly. They replaced it with Springsteen because the mother objected, she said how the real Rocky was a massive Springsteen and never heard of Seger. This would be fair enough if it was a Springsteen song that suited the mood of the scene or if it was done professionally and not like a 7-year-old taping the chart countdown off the radio. Kathmandu was a memorable moment of the flick and there is such a thing as artistic licence. I asked my wife to get me the movie for my birthday and she got this version which sucks!
The only thing I DONT like about the movie MASK is in the Directors Cut they changed the music from Bob Seger to Bruce Springsteen. I realize this was done BECAUSE Rocky Dennis LOVED Bruce Springsteen which is GREAT! I like some of Bruce Springsteen's music too but the ORIGINAL cut of the movie plays Bob Seger music. In my opinion I think the Bob Seger music works MUCH BETTER in the scenes of the movie especially the final scene when "Roll me away" by Bob Seger played I lost it and cried and cried. It had Cher visiting Rocky's gravesite and it's VERY moving. I ALSO think Bob Seger is WAY more talented than Bruce Springsteen and I love his music MUCH BETTER! PEACE RICKY PARKER. 😎😎😎😎

In the real Rusty's interview, she said Rocky loved Springsteen, but they couldn't get permission to use his music in the movie, so they used Bob Seeger. She said Rocky didn't listen to Bob Seeger and didn't even know who Bob Seeger was.
Bob Seger WAY more talented than Bruce? I mean.. both are highly accomplished award winning artists, so let’s not get crazy here. Seger OWNED the Midwest while Bruce OWNED the northeast. If anything I love how each has their devotion to their roots.

I agree!! To me, it was the best decision to delete this scene because by omitting it, it separates Cher the singer and Cher the actress. My mum downloaded this from pirate bay a few years back, Mask 1985 the Director's Cut (best version) but the hard drive broke and we lost the film along with all the others and I can't find the Directors Cut version anywhere now:/ The movie itself is on those illegal sites but the soundtrack is sh*t (no Bruce Springsteen which was actually Rocky's favorite musician, him and the beatles) and they Cut my favorite scene.... THIS scene lmao. This is the best scene in the whole movie lol. And they Cut it-

It's no surprise to me why this scene was deleted. The original version of this movie was brilliant but this scene has the potential of ruining the whole goddamn movie if you watch this version first! Fucking stupid and embarrassing!

I don't know about the Director's Cut, but I do remember this part being in the movie when it came out on HBO in the 80's. And yes it is awesome!
