Does anyone else think that the reason we turned our face away wasn’t because we were flustered that he called us his “perfect knight”, but instead because we recognized the dreams he described?
Everytime he tells the listener they're his favorite "thing" it is so unnerving to me, because I think it cuts right to the core of how this character views the listener. The listener isn't really a person to them, they're a thing that they want to own, they don't love the listener the way you love another person, the most you could say is they love the listener the way a kid loves their favorite toy. And they sell the listener on it by framing that desire for ownership as being the same as loyalty, a loyalty that their teammates lacked. There's part of me that hopes this story at least has a tragic twist, where maybe they successfully "break" the listener, only to realize it's not actually what they wanted. I just don't want it to end with the listener just going along with the brainwashing and manipulation, it'd be too sad. Ideally they'd have that realization before they go too far, but the character seems too set in their ways.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about this, especially listening to the recent audio. This series is either going to end up with a plot twist or incredibly depressing for the listener 😭‼️
@mushroomking4342 exactly! I mean how come the listener love him? It doesn't make any sense to me ? Like he is literally forcing us to like him and want to stay beside him since the start with no regard of our feelings??

In the most recent vid, I remember when he was reading the book he sort of stopped himself before reading a certain word describing the relationship between the god and the knight (it was something like "and seeing this unending loyalty, the god made the knight his perfect-") and I'm thinking the word might've been _slave._ I think it caught him off guard because he was seeing the clear parallel between him and the story, and at the start he was clearly finding it amusing, but seeing that word might've been a terrifying reality check.
I feel like there must be a point in time where the listener has some sort of psychotic break. Think about it, he is messing with their head, manipulating their thoughts and feelings so they will obey him, and Want to obey him. The listener knows what he is doing is invasive and wrong, but there's a part of them growing that either doesn't care, or says that they want to do those things. They can no longer trust their own thoughts and feelings, trapped in their own head, and the only person they could possibly turn to is the one who did this to them. Leading to a mental and/or emotional breakdown. Or maybe these are just the crazed ramblings of my little shoulder goblin that craves angst. Either way, lovely work, 10/10, go get some sleep.
No no this is amazing! Because we could get a multi ending(if they’d be interested in that) where he realizes he has to make them forget their time and let them go(and maybe the listener comes back on their own) or he goes fully into it and just straight up breaks them.

Sometimes the video is too… real…and the listener really gets put _through it._ There’s a video I CANT watch because it forked with my emotions too much in that way and I actually can barely hear his voice(a different va) in other videos anymore because it triggers the uncomfortable feelings from that specific video. 😅

Sooooooo, am i the only one who's worried that we're gonna get stuck in the trance, and he's not gonna be able to get us out? Lik, no matter how hard he tries to wake us up, we just won't and not for lack of trying. He's gonna put us so far under or were gonna put ourselves so far under that it will be literally impossible to wake us up. Also another theory, i think that we have severe trauma from being hypnotized before meeting him which is why its so easy for us to go under and also i think it could contribute to the fact that its so hard for us wake up afterwards. (Just a theory, tho)
