I'm seeing a growing trend of comments on reactions either unintentionally or intentionally trying to spoil reactors. Some fans try to spoil the shows if they don't get the reaction they expect with the knowledge of knowing more than the reactor. Not like it's never happened, just seems communities on some channels are a little more respectful than others. Plus, some channels will drop the ban hammer, so that helps. Welcome to The Owl House! This show has gained such a special place in the hearts of many (especially members of LGBT community like myself who enjoy good animation). Seeing someone else fall in love with these characters and this world is such a treat to see. (By the way (or should I say bi the way) Luz is canonically bi. The shows runner Dana Terrace is bi and wanted to include more bisexual representation. As a bi woman myself Luz and the representation in this show is fantastic.)

I loved this show till the end and still love it (and miss it) but my blood absolutely boiled throughout pretty much the entire first season whenever Amity showed up on screen. I genuinely *hated her* at first due to how she treated Willow and Luz😅😅 Like I know why she acted that way, but still. Though I don’t hate her anymore. She actually grows so much as a character that she’s pretty much a completely different person by the end of the show

One of the writers on the show is Molly Knox Ostertag, who's married to _She-Ra_ showrunner ND Stevenson, so those vibes are completely understandable. 😉
“Look kid, everyone wants to believe they’re chosen. But if we waited around for a prophecy to make us special we’d die waiting. That’s why you need to choose yourself.” That right there was the line that let me know I was going to love this show. I also love the deconstruction of Luz’s expectations for her fantasy adventure. She’s not protected just because it’s a mystical world. It’s dangerous, and she can’t expect everything to play out how it does in her books and movies. “I have to go disappoint my teacher.” Oh honey… Amity is definitely a bully and Willow doesn’t deserve any of it. However, I do want to say that the rest of the events in this episode are kind of interesting to look at from Amity’s perspective, because Willow is still cheating. We can assume that Amity has worked hard to become top student. So to have the teacher give away her Top Student status after Willow “made” one (1) decent Abomination, after we’ve already learned that she’s been failing the class, I can’t blame her for being super pissed about it. Again, doesn’t excuse the bullying but the rest of it I can totally get. The teacher himself is just kind of awful, but that’s a whole other issue. I’m not actually sure of Principle Bump was actually serious about the dissecting. I think he knew after his chat with Amity and basically was trying to force them to reveal the farce. Like, I can see it going either way. The spectacular fight animation is done by Spencer Wan. Amazing. Love Mae Whitman’s voice acting when Amity is desperately trying to get Luz to say she’s not a witch. The designs for the Owl Beast and Bat Queen are fantastic. Love designs that can be unsettling in “children’s” media.
Alex Hirsch is at it again with his voice acting! Ever since his show Gravity Falls ended, he decided to give fellow creators like himself a voice in their own creations. Since he and TOH creator Dana Terrace once dated, it made it easy for him to transition to the next work after his own. Gravity Falls, Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Amphibia, and The Owl House all make up what I like to call, “The Hirschverse.” He served as either creator, voice actor, storyboard artist, and/or occasional episode writer for these four.

This is my first time seeing your content, but I absolutely love this series. It’s a real shame it ended so soon, but what we were given is honestly one of the best animated series since Avatar The Last Airbender. As for Amity, I think she's a really complex character and I'm glad u enjoy her and Luz's dynamic. I mean, it's clear that her status and accomplishments matter a lot to her, yet as we see in ep5 she also values honesty and hard work (I mean, it was Lilith who cheated, not her) and in ep7 we see that she craves connection and is actually a very kind person at her core. So the fact that she bullied Willow, her former friend, is really interesting and in my opinion very clearly indicates Amity's own self-esteem issues.
I'm so excited about this!! This has to be one of my all-time favorite animated shows After Atla and Adventure Time! So good and Luz is amazing as a character. Every person in this show grows so much and you learn to love all of them.
Most of your questions are answered in later episodes. Also Abomination magic gets a big boost in season 2. There's actually a fan comic about Willow going crazy with plant magic as a little baby, as a reason why her parents put her in Abomination class. I recommend Moringmark to anyone AFTER watching Owl House to the end.
People truly adore creating ahows that start as silly, slice of life series... only to turn into something much, MUCH more along the way. I initially started to watch this series because the animation looked beyond gorgeous, but it quickly grew on me... and the story just... 😱😱😱

OH MY GOODNESS YES YES!! I am so excited your adventure with The Owl House, get ready for the trauma- sometimes I question if this is really a kids show because my gosh is it dark sometimes- and the humor is immaculate Dana really did an amazing job (speaking about Dana she's actually Tiny Nose and you will see more of her)! The first few episodes are a little slow but they pick up around episode 12/15 and you will definitely see more friendships (y'all who watched the whole show knows what I mean), twists, etc! You may or may not need some tissues- anyways I can't wait for you to check out more of The Owl House, I can't wait for more Content from you and I hope that you are doing well and staying safe and healthy!
