Interesting to think about the ball quality past the fact that both of you can hit the ball in, very consistently, and very fast. Jon if you see this comment, would you say the main difference in quality is the weight of the ball or placement closer to the line (or both)?
My groundstrokes are definitely not as good as Darderi’s, especially if I need to cover/run the whole court. On a half court, I can keep up but they have a more consistent ball (both in terms of power and depth). I feel they are not even tired rallying half court but I am pretty gassed in these videos. Everything about them is a little better, faster, more powerful, more accurate.
I would say the main difference in quality is how many balls they can hit with good pace AND depth. I feel I can hit a fast ball, but after a couple shots, I might hit a shorter ball that they can attack. Even if my shot tolerance for these fast paced balls is 4-5, if their shot tolerance is 6-7 then they can just play 6-7 balls every point to beat me. If that makes sense. And yes, I think the SERVE is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in men’s tennis at the high level. Hope this helps. Thank you for commenting!

Or would the ground strokes be similar and what separates the two of you would be match shot selection and serve quality?
