Awesome collection of fish Rod. Peacock bass are my favourite and the Geo's and the catfish, especially the catfish. We are starting to see different type's of peacock bass here in Australia ,picked up some Azuls on the the wnd GREAT looking fish cheers for the vid.
I have been to suriname a few times and the brokopondo is a big power plant
reservoir. So the peacock that live in the lake now could have evolved ... The lake is just an hour drive from the capital city Paramaribo and its great fishing in the lake.. there are a lot of hiding spaces in the lake because they left the jungle when they made the reservoir and most of the big trees are still under the water..
Dreamfish! I was so happy and excited when I got my red/brown/orange ancitrus catfish/pleco and even more when I manage to get their eggs to hatch in a separate aquarium with the help of a inner filter since my platys would not let them be.. 😄😄😄

Those peacocks looked like a mutation of a peacock bass and a northern pike, with those patterns on the side :O
Serratus pleco, in indonesia we called this one as "Ikan sapu sapu" this fish can live on any type dirt water no need aerator or filter, even less water they can survive atleast 3 hours, some serratus pleco in indonesia contain metal from river and they still proof, well we here use that fish for eat alga or moss

Do you add conditioners to the holding tubes? As soon as you open those shipping bags, the ammonia in the water starts getting more and more toxic

The cart you should get like a tool cart metal with a single drawer and you could always put magnet hooks on the and carry whatever you need during your unboxing and the scissors and your nets stays with the cart and whatever else you uses

We have a Hypostomus plecostomus in Philippines that is considered as pest and if you caught one it's always 18-24 inch

Nice movie about some of the fish species of Suriname. Also nice to see those pleco varieties. Do not make the mistake of releasing them into the wild as they quickly become a pest like they are here already in Suriname. The inland waters are full of this species and they are very dominant and disrupt the life and reproduction of the original fish species. Because they have no natural enemies, they multiply very quickly.
in my village have many fish like that..we call it "ikan zebra" and "ikan sakarmut" also " ikan betik"

Is there a reason that you put the dirty water in with them? I thought the ammonia spikes as soon as you open the bag and gas exchange happens, so its best to float the bag in fresh water to acclimate, then put fish in fresh water as soon as bag is opened?
Because they're not acclimated right? I think that's the reason at least not sure
the lithodoris looks like my rapheal catfish, are they related? I think the rapheals are my favorite fish currently, it took 3 years for them to come out but they are very, very active now! lots of fun!

11:30 pleco are a type of catfish actually anyway. Suckermouth catfish are what they are also called.
