Hi Yogesh, i also have a Mipad 3 and honestly at this moment looks like the Shop rom from GB is the best thing around. Last year i had issues with the Mipad 2 and replaced teh firmware with the official and all worked great but this year i think im holding on to the shop rom for a bit more I will share a video soon 👍

I bought it on gear best and it arrived to me with Playstore and the MIUI version 8.2 stable with 8.2.16.0.0 firmware version. Anyway i continue to have the problem black screen. My question are: 1- if i can follow your instructions in this video with OS apple, cause i have retina 15" with the latest OS Sierra. Have you ever tasted the process with it, windows apart? 2- Is it strange in your opinion that i have the issues even if i don t have 7.exc....firmware versions? what it better, try to flash anyway? +Luca Iacobellis Hi again, the problem is because of the firmware version, doesnt matter the version. You can do the procedure that i have shared with a mac and use miui 8 latest version official from xiaomi site RJ 😀👍
Hallo Roberto, just tried, but failed. First I installed Android File Transfer on Mac (OS Sierra 10.12.3), download the full rom from here en.miui.com/download-296.html , then i zipped the folder and renamed as "update.zip" (original name was "miui_MIPAD2_V8"), put it on the device in the main root, but the message on the device was "Install update.zip failed! update.zip signature verification failed". Then clicking on Reboot the mipad restart with no problem as it was before, but with the same black screen issue i suppose..Should try Wipe & Reset? Maybe i chosen the wrong page from MIUI website? [It says "Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 China" on the top of the page...]. PS: I had already the icon Updater inside the Mipad, so i launched the recovery mode from the menu, on "select update package" (i can see the same screen as the one in your video) Thanx very much.

Hi Summet, i dont have the 1st generation, only MIPAD 2 and MIPAD3 and although i believe that its possible i would go with caution. First search on foruns to see if there is a choice or not and if yes then follow the instrutions available 👍

Hi Jorge, I got a problem with my new Redmi note 4 phone , right after I flash my phone with the global rom, all the apps are disappeared except the MI logo, I can"t reboot it either, the logo MI remains on screen till all power runs out.Any help please.

Great professional easy to follow vid. Thinking about getting one of these since I am rapidly getting to be a Xiaomi fan by (oh dear). This looked like an easier process that flashing my MI5 which I got a month ago but if the difference with the behaviour and performance is the same as my phone wow , FLASH. Its a Chinese rom that you flash since there is no global so do you then have to remove Chinese apps and install Google? Somebody asked on here why sellers do this. Xiaomi does not sell out side of its official markets so re sellers (in my case gearbest) install a hacked rom that gives you multi language and some Google apps straight out of the box just like it you bought it officially in your own country. Because these early roms are early versions, problems are not sorted since there are no OTA updates. With my MI5 despite being logged into my Mi account i kept getting the message unable to reach servers. 2 of my apps kept crashing , battery life was terrible and it got so hot at times you could cook on it. The official Rom corrects all these problems and my MI5 is now amazing as I am sure the Mi Pad will be. Also some resellers install malware etc , I have never found this with Gearbest and tests show my phone was clean but you do need to be aware. Flashing the official rom should remove any bad stuff.Thanks again Roberto
Hey Robert, yep this is a great Tablet in terms of hardware with some headaches on the software side :) Regarding the aps i did not remove any chinese aps, everything was in english and was pretty clean without garbage so all ok. Then i did install the google services and working fine :) I also understand that re sellers do install these roms to have a bigger audience, for example im portuguese and i use everything in English but im aware that many people in Portugal does not understand anything in english so they need a rom that has PT language and this is one of the reasons. I just wish they could do the International rom a bit better and didnt mess up the original one so much as they do Hope you enjoy yours 👍👍 RJ

Hi I am just in the process of trying to update my MIPAD 2 and the ROM version on the MIUI link is now Version: V8.1.3.0.LACCNDI so I assume that it's just the same update process as in your video? My current version is MIUI 77.0.8.0 LXLCNCJ (Stable)
Hi Roberto I managed to update to MIUI 8 after a bit of hassle trying to get into Recover Mode. Now the MIUI version shows 8.1.3.0 but the Android Version is still 5.1, should it not move up to Android Version 6 after this update. I hope I have not done anything wrong :-(
don't work for me, can't get into the recovery mode, i hold the volume button and power button for a long time, but then it shows a progressing bar. does it mean its already updating ?

Hi Garry, yes its just a updated version. After installing you will have access to OTA and no more manual updates 👍👍

Nothing wrong, its just how it works :) still on 5.1 and im not sure if Xiaomi will upgrade to 6 on this device. Lets hope so :)

Ah! Disconnect the cable before going into recovery mode :)
i tried to update ot,but it says the file is somehow broken.
Probably you have renamed the file to "update.zip" and all you need is to rename to "update" the .zip is already there

Can't get into the recovery mode, doesn't mater how long I hold the volume up button and power button.
Disconnect the cable and try without the cable
It's just restarting after the mi logo...
