    Also, the Vaughn VE8 Pro Carbon THS Spec is the best chesty I have ever worn. NHL beef up package in the arms and sternum (should help with those gut shots), as well as carbon fiber in the sternum, shoulders, and belly blocks. There is also Kevlar in the belly padding. To top it all off, it’s easily the most mobile chesty on the market. It’s top dollar, but it’s 100% worth it.

    I’ve got the CCM Extreme Shield II Pro and it’s an awesome chest protector. Very customizable, super light, form fitting, perfect sized shoulder floaters, D3O foam in the chest so you won’t feel those direct bombs to the chest. Arms offer very good mobility and protection. I upgraded from a Warrior Ritual Sr GT because those arms were not very protective.

  • @vanniek71

    I just tried my first composite, since I didn’t know if I would like them (foam core user) I went with the budget Warrior CR3. Besides having more jump when the puck hits it (cost me a few goals until I figured it out) it’s been a great stick. Plus stores have them on sale from time to time and I can get them for $80, which is less than I pay for foam cores. I may venture out and try the True but for now the CR3’s are working great, and they are much lighter than my Warrior foam cores

    • @ThePuckStopsHere
      @ThePuckStopsHere  5 лет назад +1

      If you can get it for $80 that is amazing. And I felt the same when I transitioned from the Sherwood foam core to the CCM composite. I do like the composite now as I feel I can get a better shot off and it is also the right size for me.

    If you like the low vibration feel of a foam core I would recommend the premier 2 stick it has a very stiff blade and has very little vibration like a foam core but you get the lightness of a composite and the puck playing benefits, and I have also heard many good things about the new warriors, I know for a fact there Vibexlite is revolutionary when it comes to a vibrationless composite stick and a lot of nhl tendys are moving to either ccm Bauer or warrior sticks.

Warrior chesty rewards you for playing a strict blocking butterfly style; the elbow blocks feel like two extra gloves, and the design of the plastic on the biceps make the hardest of shots just die and roll into the elbows. In my humble opinion dude, if you want mobility and feel (aka Jonny Quick style), I'd go with the VE8 Senior Pro (not the Carbon Pro; that's the highest most expensive end model).
    I had the epic chesty for about 10 years, and just made the switch to the Ve8. I don't give a shit for size, bulkiness, technology, etc haha I really just wanted something that felt AMAZING, and allowed me to move however I wanted. The Ve8 does that, and I barely had to break it in too. It felt broken in after about one or two skates.
    As for the stick, I'm a huge CCM Premier guy (I believe it's the P2.9, so not the higher end composite one, but the tier right below it). The Price Toe Curve is the best stick I've ever owned. It's light, it's thin (so easy to grip on your blocker). Only thing you might have to do is sand off the built in grip shit at the paddle. I found it stuck way too much to my blocker so it was impossible to slide my hand up the stick to poke or play the puck, but if you sand it off it's perfect.

I'm used to wood sticks, so having a composite one made me feel like I was gonna break it at any moment. And the material of the shaft is more "grippy", so it makes it hard to slide off your stick to poke check. My blocker gets stuck there. But maybe it has to do with the material of my palm (i'm not sure what it is but i use a CCM Eflex 400 blocker, not the newest). I wouldn't buy one personally.

From speaking to a few guys using the A6.0 they have all been saying great things about it's reliability and performance, and over in the UK it is a good bit cheaper than the 2S stuff, so I would say it's Deffinitly worth a punt if your wanting to try out some composite sticks.
