I love that bit where Jay talked about having different friends for different roles in his life...some friends are daily friends, and some you see once a month or once a year - ALL are valuable and meaningful though, and I think a lot of people forget that.

I heard this episode first on the podcast where I wasn't able to leave any comment, then I came here, just to say thank you and this is probably one of the best podcasts I have listened to (They are all very good! Just this one is really awesome!) Doctor Robert Waldinger's way of describing his research and his opinion is so objective and clear and informative. Love your work Jay! Appreciate that you're doing it for everyone.

I saw you with Russell Brand. I have been a follower ever since. Your vision for creating movies and such with a positive vibe really resonates with me. I am 65. When my children were little I was always looking for programming with a higher vibration. Let's enhance love and compassion in programming. starting from a young age. I predict a brighter future for us all if we do. Your You Tube videos appeal to the older generation too. I thank you for that.

Omg Jay I can give my feedback here please please tell me that you read it. I am new on podcasts and I have been listening to all of your podcasts from 2 month. And you what man you have changed my perspective specially regarding relationships. I am so grateful to you you made me realize my mistakes and helped me to end that vicious circle of all that hurt that we find in relationships but you opened my eyes I don't know how I can thank you I wish I could give a hug and you would see what you have given me. And one more thing that I want to tell you that there is something in your voice that tells me that you genuinely want us to grow that what I hardly found in anyone. Thank you so much thank you so much ❤️. Please let me know you got my feedback 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Its all about managing the tension between the absolute present and the plays of the mind...which are always past or future. Being present seems to require a lot of effort...which is scarry. But actually it is quite the opossite. Being present is the absence of any possible effort.

That part 'secured attachment for risk taking' catches my attention. I feel we are often lacking in this, "a ladder/channels out there to reach out to desperate people to help them transform their lives. For eg, learning play by ear music could be a choice of many but there ain't alot of opportunity to learn it for a social purpose rather than commercial one. I would love to join a band & display my singing talent or learn percussion/piano fun-playing so as to build my self confident/worth but these opportunities are scarce..
