The grading works the same as the rest of Classroom. For group projects you can have one student turn it in for the group, but everyone else will have a status that says "missing" you will need to ignore.
@@jrsowash I was excited for this group assignment function but disappointed that every student in the group has to turn in homework otherwise their status will be missing and I'm unable to grade them as a group. -_-" I think this defeats the purpose of having group assignment.
I think the idea is that even for group projects, each member needs to submit the assignment to indicate completion of their portion of the assignment.
Got the update. It's awesome for organizing students into groups such as project groups or even table groups. Wanted to ask, can you do a demo about the new Google Chat Dm&space creation restrictions for students?
Hi! Thanks for the video! If I have 9 groups that are going to work with the same assignment instrucctions can I mark all groups? Instead of creating 9 separate assigments? If I choose more than 1 group for an assigment what would be the students view?? Each group can work independently?. Thanks in advance!!
You will need to create an assignment for each group. I recommend that you create the first one and then reuse the post to duplicate it as many times as you need.
Finally! We work with continuous intakes with groups of 3-4 learners every 1-1,5 months. Thé previous groups are still in house for months then. And that over the entire year. Differentiation chaos guaranteed. Finally we van manage this without our workarounds. Your walkouround has one big pitfall we Found out through time. Care to know thé hack?
I don't see "groups" next to people :( Is there anything I can do to get this update in a current class? I also created a new class for next semester and still don't see the option.
Do you have Google workspace plus? This feature requires a premium account. Towards the end of the video I do share another way that you can create groups if you are using the free version of workspace.
Great update! Questions: Can you grade work by the group? As in they all do the assignment and only one person turns it in?

@@nongienong6900 Agree! So this works for differentiated things like math assignments or reading groups, but not actually for group projects?

Yes, that would be a good video idea. I'll probably put it over on my other channel- @googleadminbootcamp

If I allow students to edit the doc with the instructions and assign to more than 1 group, how will this work??

Can you return an assignment by group as well?
No, each student has their own submit button.
