Absolutely loved checking this out. Thanks for showcasing it to us Jeff. Watched it last night when I was winding down for the day but re watching it again this morning as it was so good to see everything.
Also a big fan of the area and Bob Lazar's story. Its always interesting to hear all the theories and stories coming out of the area. Never knew that about the planes they fly in here and how they go off radar and land here. Very cool stuff to hear/learn about. Keep up the amazing work brother and thank you to Superspud for giving this area the rightful scenery it deserves with the such iconness of it.
I always found the desert in the middle of the night to be quite eerie. A day if exploring in the light looking on a vast land where nothing can sneak up on you and you can see everything for MILES, but then at night you can't see even 100 feet in front of you unless you're in town. Now it feels like something is watching you, but you can't see what. It's such a stark contrast that Flight Sim seems to catch really well. The soundtrack choices you used help to capture the feel as well.

Road to S4 is overgrown because after Lazar spoke up all that stuff was supposedly moved to a remote island out in the pacific somewhere. The hangars or remnants of them should still be there unless they destroyed it all with dynamite.

S4 doesn't actually exist. It's entirely made up by the rich imagination of Bob Lazar. A pathetic con artist.
It's overgrown because the road between the Area 51 base and Indian Springs Aux Airfield has not been maintained.
@@2sik_UK The US Navy base South of India is in the Maldives and is not secret but quite well known. It's called Diego Garcia.

S4 is not real. Area 51 is real but everyone knew it was there even if not official acknowledged. Bob Lazar is a conman looking for some fame. He made up everything he claimed. He was never a research scientist. He was an electrician with a minor degree from a community college.

The fact this is a flight sim is genuinely just INSANE. It's definitely not perfect but it is actually amazing that this is possible. Imagine a full scale driving sim or even a vehicle sim with these graphics!

I've been to Area 51 back in 2021 during our Covid road trip. All they do is just watch from a distance. Nothing scary about it.
true. They’re trained snipers from the military, if you don’t do anything stupid then they won’t shoot you down.
The hangar on the taxiways before you headed out to the supposed S4... those are scoot and hide shelters.
The functioning of them is a place where test aircraft could land, pull in quickly, and wait out an overhead satellite pass, then just take right back off again. It's not a place for maintenance or any sort of work. Refuelling maybe, but that's about it. Mainly it's just about quickly getting out of satellite coverage during a pass.

Wow, the driving really made me appreciate how great 2024 looks honestly. I wish I could just "Buy an area" and build a game just inside that environment. That would make a new DCS possible, but with maps that look like this. That's a dream sim.

and the Black Hawk is the mysterious stealth one, what was crashed during the Bin Laden mission.
In a time when everything has been done as far as gaming content, this is a very creative and cool utilization of mods and modern world sim technology. Great content Jeff.

A guy I served in the military with is a “Camo dude”. A few people from my unit went on to work as contractors out at groom lake. He said it’s a pretty boring job most days.

I've been through the Arizona desert the biome, dirt road, and fauna is almost exactly what its like IRL. Absolutely amazing.

That camera behind the truck at 1:01 looks so good, you would believe MSFS 2024 to be an open world driving car. Love the video Jeff, love the MSFS 2024 boat ones too.
That said, is this Sim Update 1 Beta? If not give that a go Jeff. They have done amazing work to the ground textures and photogrammetry.

Jeff, the mythical Hangar 18 is at Wright-Patterson.
True but the big hanger at Area 51 is called Hangar 18 by those infatuated with the myths of Area 51.
It comes from the fact the people making up this crap can never keep their stories straight.
back when the Rosewell stories were breaking out Area 51 didn't even exist. Later as Area 51 became popular, the Roswell story morphed into Area 51 being the location of Hangar 18 rather than Wright-Patterson.
Funny how it's hard for them to keep their lies straight.
Also funny how a bunch of cheedle-fingered nobodies happen to know every secret detail of the greatests secrets ever kept and they're not "disappeared".

Near the end of the video as you are admiring the view across Papoose Dry Lake... the ridge on the horizon.. on the other side of that is Frenchman Flats... a Moon Cratered landscape of the Nevada Nuclear Test Site.
That's where they exploded a couple hundred nuclear bombs.
26:38 ive seen places like this in West Utah. Its a hot springs and the dust is actually the steam that comes up from it, Jeff
If there's a Janet 737-600, is there also a Chrissy 737-600 and a Jack 737-600? IYKYK. This was definitely an interesting look at a place they definitely want kept largely from the public. I also think that the entrance to the S4 may not be there if satellite imagery isn't picking it up. Not even a glimpse of what may have been there?

That location you looked at before heading out to the Supposed S4 which you looked at via "drone"... That is an explosives storage facility. Those were bunkers not entrances to an underground facility.
Right after which the next site you visited, those "telescope dome" like things are just something the terrain content creator added. there is an actual location there but they are Engine Test Stands. there are two sets of stands there and nearby that is a large rectangular area that is the old waste burial site.

We are able to see all of this in google earth. And the spots for the underground bunkers to google earth they are small, but if you look at the size perception to a vehicle, they are massive.

Theres something odd about the base your showing. It looks like you could remove some of the tarmac and find something really big going on underneath what's on the ground.

Always love to do that in dcs as it modeled the base so well. Never thought Id see this video while watching another area 51 video. the base has always been a huge interest to me. amazes me how far down groom lake road you have to go to actually see any of the base.

Gosh I could only imagine what the file size of the entire earth would be as a drive able map….. in some detail like this scene. Although would be awesome to do some RP in my own town in a video game.
The World LOD's are streamed to your pc via the internet. The Aircraft and menus are, from your pc. MSFS24 is around ~30GB

That's pretty cool that they turn off their transponder and cancel IFR, in that 737.
Despite the flaws and bugs of msfs 24, Microsoft really took a huge leap into the future with this sim. Like I don't think people understand the giant leap that gives us the ability to see the entire earth in even more detail. I'm guessing within the next 10 years we will get a driving simulator of sorts with even more detail for the entire earth, especially even though people don't like it with the jumps we have taken with AI. It's only a matter of time before we have the entire earth, buildings, rivers trees etc 99% model in a simulator where we can drive from our own high detailed driveways and drive cross country to anywhere with working roads, bridges etc. This sim has me excited for the future
