[PG] The life story of I'iga Pisa, an independence activist who sailed hundreds of kilometers in a small canoe to escape exile from Samoa.
Made with the support of NZ On Air.
I visited Samoa 10 years ago and absolutely fell in love, I hope I can go back one day.
I wish I had ancestors this worthy of the pride these men and women bring for their families.
What a beautiful and moving story of a man’s resilience and strength in character.
A powerful and inspiring history of one of our heroes of Samoa. We are better as a nation because of the adversity you endured. A true legend
What a remarkable story, adds to the enriching history of Samoa. I'Iga Pisa's resilience & perservance ... the impact & legacy he left behind WOW!🙏
* perseverance 😂
Should try make a video about the battle against the Germens in 1888 where Samoan rebel forces under Mata'afa Iosefo defeated a large Germen force aswell as making a video of the Samoan wars 1830s-1899 now that is one of the most untold pacific history

Wow... never heard of this hero of our country but I'm just wondering if my grandfather related to him, my grandfather was from Vaiala and his name was Pisa Togoi'u Seala and I was named after my grandfather. Fascinating story.

I love this series! Please never end it🙏🙏
I would love to see a story of how chiefly titles came about in Samoa and the story of the Queen Nafanua
Please keep and share our stories for the next generations to know.
I want to visit Samoa to acknowledge Samoa courage. If anyone would like to do the same, please comment on this and we can go together for the one cause. Tiihei Mauri Ora
I have always felt that Lauaki was duped on purpose, the Germans & other greedy countries knew his Power and wanted to oust Him. In turn they had moles who adhered to their rules who are our own Leader's and in turn got all the authority and riches. Our own leaders turned on our People and poor Lauaki was exiled but He was the Good Dude & He also disagreed with Malietoa. Hmmmmm... Kalofae.
So he was Mau and then he chose money over the Mau. That’s maybe why people have never heard of him?

Palangi is roughly translated to “diseased ones” 😂😂😂
“Pala-angi” Pala meaning disease or sickness, angi referring to “being full of.”
