The furniture manufacturer Design Alternative himself has a high quality standard on his products. This is how high-end furniture for laboratories, offices and luxury kitchens are produced. The production line includes a storage-saw combination, an edge banding machine with laserTec and automated return unit, another automated edge banding machine, two CNC machines for drilling, trimming and grooving of workpieces, as well as a CNC processing center for further processing.
Dr. Somsak Vatinchai, managing director of Design Alternative, is visibly enthusiastic: “Production has significantly changed. Previously, we had considerably less transparency in production and we were able to reduce costs. Since we use these systems, fewer errors are made by employees and also machine downtimes were reduced. Work is also less physically demanding, because the handling of workpieces has been automated.”
