coming from someone who's trying to get out of a vicious cycle of overdoing it in the gym and strict tracking, you're an absolute inspiration and kind of saving my fucking life
Grocery shopping cheap honestly isn't that difficult. My weekly grocery for me is somewhere between $30-50ish a week. Just kinda depends on what I'm eating at that time
As a European I always get amazed watching US grocery shopping. We have (usually) the same store layout however there are so many differences in packaging, product sizes and other details. Liquid white eggs on a supermarket shelf, whaaat? Also, every product fits its place like a puzzle piece, an aesthetic marvel. In Europe it's more pragmatic: put on the shelves as many products as the cabinet fits even if it looks like dogwater.
I work in the food and beverage industry. The shelves are customizable so they can move the positions to better fit the products. Also major wholesalers have a rep for each major store in their area that regularly come in at weird hours and rearrange/organize the shelves when they restock (in addition to the store workers). The company I work for has an entire department that designs shelf space and creates models to optimize sales. It’s industry standard.
Ugh that primal urge to binge on a caloric deficit I get that often. When that comes I treat myself and the family to a nice dinner out, make a night of it and get dressed up so it's satisfying on many levels.
I have a weird thing with food and it makes eating really hard. I was always told I was just a picky eater growing up but as I age I understand better it’s more a mental block for textures and tastes rather than just a kid not wanting to eat their veggies. I have found it really beneficial to look at food as fuel rather than yummy fun time. I’ve been hard locked on throwing rice in a rice cooker. Ground beef and turkey in an air fryer then adding frozen mix of corn, green beans, carrots, peas, and bell pep when the meat is almost done. After everything is cooked I just mix it in a bucket and portion it into meal prep containers. Add some cheese and ketchup before I eat and it being a homogenous mix makes it more consistent for my brain and easy for me to get everything I need for fuel at once.
I'm the opposite and always ate everything but I still ended up at the same conclusion. Food is mostly fuel now and I think of macros more than anything. I do add cheese and hot sauce to add flavor but I can eat the same thing everyday for weeks on end.
The smartest most educated people cant agree on almost anything about nutrition. Just focus on what u know its good for you - good body composition, cardiovascular health, and just eat what u like

Patty Patty, the setting of your intro got me: the colour gradient of the dusk sky, the sterotyped (at least in my Italian mind) American parking lot with those palm trees and that zigzag silly cloud which (at 0:02) seems that is coming straight outta your head. I can't explain why but all of that gives me the vibe of a cutscene from a GTA game. Love it. Ciao from Italy.
Literally in the exact same boat as you. Got burnt out from eating bland and simple meals. I don't think thats the only thing though, think it has a lot to do with just being overly strict with my diet for the past 3months. These last 2 weeks I wasn't even meeting the protein macros which is bare minimum like you mentioned. This video definitely gave me a much needed boost/motivation, it really does help when someone going through the same struggle expresses it and it just aligns with what you're going through, stuff like this is why I love your channel, relatable. Starting today, getting back on my diet
Ground Turkey is SO clutch. It's super cheap comparatively and super easy to just cook it in a pot with some seasonings and be set. It's been my go to lately since I can get about 3 pounds for $12. Love these videos as always Patty because they're just silly fun and yet also entertaining and authentic. Have a great day and thank you!! 🫶

I went from a gym rat with gains, tracking my calories without issue to obsessing over it to the point I developed an ED (not officially diagnosed), becoming a sad boi, and losing a ton of weight and muscle. Still crawling my way out of that and trying to fix how my brain sees food, but I’m back at the gym now. Just started running a 4-day upper/body split. Definitely a slippery slope!

Since becoming a mom, my focus really switched from calories and macros to quality and it has made a world of difference. You really do get satisfied with less when the quality is higher, it has also eliminated snacking because I stay full longer. Also, my son's health is a monumental concern and I just want to give him the best start in life. He's growing up on lifetime grazed beef/dairy, wild game, pasture raised eggs, and organic everything else. At almost 1.5 he is already working out with me and starts gymastics in June.

Great video! For my protein intake I rely a lot upon burger patties (no buns) and chicken quesadillas. As a woman I’m too nervous to put myself in that starvation mode bc I think it would mess with my hormones, so I’m perpetually in bulking season. I do also prioritize raw veggies and fruits for vitamin intake purposes. I would love to see how you incorporate cardio into your routine! I absolutely hate treadmills so sometimes it’s a little difficult to meet my cardio goals when running outside isn’t an option. Keep up the great work, you’re an inspiration! :)
Ground meat has been a staple of my diet because it's just so much easier to digest than other meat proteins. I can eat it and not feel bloated all afternoon, which usually is what makes me not hit my macros because I skip a meal.

I just started tracking my macros, myself. As a skinny guy, I'm obviously trying to bulk. When I'm paying attention, getting in enough protein is no problem (I love meat), but getting in enough carbs is horrid. I am literally constantly full all day, every day, and I'm still not seeing my weight go up. Hasn't been that long yet, my body will adapt and stuff, but it sure ain't easy to eat so many carbs. I like rice, but there's only so much I can eat. Potatoes and bread are decent alternatives. Vegetables are honestly hard to get down simply because they're not carb-dense. They take up volume in my tummy and have barely any carbs. Fruit is easy because they're basically nature's candy, but veggies have also been hard. Cooking can be hard some days. Been thinking of having a meal prep day where I cook a bunch and just put it into containers in the fridge. It seems like a lot of work all at once, but it might be the best way to keep me consistent. Anyway, love the content Patty! Wish you nothing, but the best!

Hey pat! Stovetop rice is actually so easy and one of my favorite ways to make it. Look on the pack for the water ratio and then rinse the rice. Next I boil the water, add the rice, wait for it to boil again, then turn to low and set a timer for 12 minutes. Perfect rice every time! Love your videos so much :) Ps: sometimes I add a glove of garlic or ginger or some butter and that elevates it even more
1 cup rice, 2 cups water, an extra 1/8 cup water, tbsp fat, salt to taste. Rinse rice(optional) Heat water to boil, drop rice, fat, salt, stir. Once boiling again turn to low and lid. 20 Min rice done.
Decent Haul but your grab order is kinda out of whack. You can get packaged things like Carbs, sweet treats first, things that don't spoil at room temperature. Grabbing your Proteins first then walking around the store with them in your cart at 70F for 30min to an hour is not good, same for the yogurt. Folks, Grab your meats, cheeses, frozen things last, So there is less time at or above room temperature spoiling/thawing them.
Been working out for about 6 months now and just followed your channel! Hope to get more good nutrition info like this because I struggle to hit my protein each day for sure.
My approach to grocery shopping is exactly the same. I plan ahead, I sometimes even make the list of what I'll buy on the grocery store's app (and I have an estimate to what I'll spend). I look at what's on sale for that week. I start with protein for the week as a base, and then plan out the rest of the ingredients based around a few different meals (including the ingredients I do already have on my shelf or in the freezer). I also like to take advantage of freezable food when it's on sale and store it in the freezer for the next week/s.
I love the part where you dedicate chest supported rows to saving some unlucky soul from a slow, painful coconut bacteria death by reporting the mold to the proper authorities.
Patty! If you have a deep freezer look into buying half a cow or a quarter, it has been the best thing for saving money on beef for my family and it is also higher quality. Lovely to watch you!
Rice: 1 cup of rice 400 ml of cold water (get some green cardamom cracked and whole star anise for next level) salt pepper oil Wash rice until no longer cloudy. Put all in a pot. Cover. High heat until boil. 12 minutes. NEVER EVER REMOVE THE COVER UNTIL DONE. Perfect rice every single time. So Easy.
I have always found it very hard to turn off the cravings once I occasionally push that 'bad foods' button in my normally healthy and balanced diet - those times I stop tracking and don't care as much as I usually do. This felt like those trips to the store for me, when I re-asses my food priorities, so yes, I know what you mean.
Been focusing on tracking my macros properly for the first time. I've learned a lot about my eating habits and my personal nutrition already in just a few weeks. Would love to see what your meals for this grocery week look like :)
I freeze egg whites in ice trays and add them to the egg white cube bag… when I need egg whites they thaw fast if needed but may drop them into a hot pan and let them melt in the pan.

Turkey is great!! If you cook it and add mix veggies like, corn. , diced potatoes kidney beans, some peas. Add a small can of tomato sauce or some tomato paste. 8oz of water salt pepper. Let it simmer 15 minutes serve with some rice. GURLLL it'll change your life. Enjoy.
best ground turkey hack here! cut up tomato, onion, mushroom, jalapeno and cilantro. cook all together until soft, then add the turkey meat, cook down with taco seasoning until its cooked through and crumbly. Absolutely amazing taco meat packed with veggies and protein! i eat with lettuce wraps or low carb tortillas!
Don’t think you’ll see this but actual popcorn kernels have been a hack for me. I got this zero cal chile lime powder and makes me forget about chips. I love that most of your natural ingredients are Whole Foods. Makes it feel and seem more attainable
I really struggle with counting my protein intake and it can become very upsetting since I have had some disordered eatnig habits in the past, but counting the pounds per day is so mind blowing to me. I had never thought of that (as silly as that sounds) and I think you've just changed things drastically for me. Thanks for that.
Little trick I learnt working at a melon field patty 4:25 Look for the yellow spot at the bottom, the bigger the yellow the longer it’s spent ripening in the field and hence it’s sweeter
Hola Patty!!! I like it without seeing the video!!! I don't know why but when you don't train your videos are relaxing and entertaining... have a nice week, good vibes.. Mucho amor y saludos !!
Lately haven’t been eating at all literally about 500-700 calories a day cuz I’ve been feeling depressed and watching this reminded me how much I enjoyed grocery shopping might do that and try to eat better ❤
Patty! I love you and your videos! I wanted to ask if you have ever tried cream of rice cereal? It’s a warm breakfast cereal kinda like oatmeal but I like it way better! I like to add almond milk, brown sugar substitute or sugar free syrup and frozen raspberries. Much love to you!
you could replace bread/rice/potatoes with black beans/carrots - beans (canned beans also OK and easier to cook) are much higher in protein, carrots also have more nutrients and fiber than potatoes. Also, you could add onion and green bell peppers to your vegies list for increased flavor - easy to cook: you just need to chop and mix them with the meat and the carrots (or potatoes) and slow cook on a lidded pot (no oil needed). At the end add the canned beans and some tomato sauce (e.g. Bolognese) and boil a few more minutes.
You've motivated me to be healthy and work out . I started in October and was at 255 lb. At the moment I'm at 185 lb! Started going to the gym about a month ago and love it!
My eating habits: cook ~2-3 cups of chickpeas and quinoa 1x a week and have them ready as mixins to add to everything. Chickpeas with my eggs and salads, quinoa in my greek yogurt or with bacon bits if I’m hungry and lazy. Is nice. I also like to add quinoa to rice if I’m frying it up. What are your thoughts on plant proteins like chickpeas and quinoa? Also how did you like those dates?

i imagined myself being the guy, getting greeted by patty with the rotten coconut. It was embarassing yet fangasmic cuz i love you Patricia 🤟
that was nice of her
Lol all in a days work 💪🥥
Hey pat! Stovetop rice is actually so easy and one of my favorite ways to make it. Look on the pack for the water ratio and then rinse the rice. Next I boil the water, add the rice, wait for it to boil again, then turn to low and set a timer for 12 minutes. Perfect rice every time! Love your videos so much :)
Ps: sometimes I add a glove of garlic or ginger or some butter and that elevates it even more
love a grocery haul, plus your hair looks amazing btw!!
1 cup rice, 2 cups water, an extra 1/8 cup water, tbsp fat, salt to taste.
Rinse rice(optional)
Heat water to boil, drop rice, fat, salt, stir.
What's "locked in" ?
Ure putting all ur focus into it, example “were locked in this summer” 💪💪💪💪
Focused cuhhhh
I really appreciate the subtitles ❤ because sometimes my brain can’t understand words when I head them 😭
Food time is best time, can’t wait for the new harvest 🗣️🗣️
Man I literally cannot get enough of your videos. I finish the video and get damn near hurt that it's over.
💜🙏
Love you Patty from Mexico ❤
My approach to grocery shopping is exactly the same. I plan ahead, I sometimes even make the list of what I'll buy on the grocery store's app (and I have an estimate to what I'll spend). I look at what's on sale for that week. I start with protein for the week as a base, and then plan out the rest of the ingredients based around a few different meals (including the ingredients I do already have on my shelf or in the freezer).
I also like to take advantage of freezable food when it's on sale and store it in the freezer for the next week/s.
Late night grocery shopping with Patty💯 Let's Goooo💪
I love the part where you dedicate chest supported rows to saving some unlucky soul from a slow, painful coconut bacteria death by reporting the mold to the proper authorities.
Love you patty ❤
Patty! If you have a deep freezer look into buying half a cow or a quarter, it has been the best thing for saving money on beef for my family and it is also higher quality. Lovely to watch you!
I liked my own comment
Bruh.... I liked ur comment 😂

@@Taran532idfk why some of you people are bringing up mothers into comments, are you out of of your f**kin mind???

Rice:
1 cup of rice
400 ml of cold water
(get some green cardamom cracked and whole star anise for next level)
salt
pepper
oil
Wash rice until no longer cloudy.
Put all in a pot. Cover. High heat until boil. 12 minutes. NEVER EVER REMOVE THE COVER UNTIL DONE.
Perfect rice every single time. So Easy.
47 seconds no views? patty fell off
You just have slow internet..
Wtfs with this lame meme
Please upload more!! It's super fun watching you do silly shit. Not sure who edits the vids buts golden
You are whimsically humorous... I love it.
Why thankyouuuu
I have always found it very hard to turn off the cravings once I occasionally push that 'bad foods' button in my normally healthy and balanced diet - those times I stop tracking and don't care as much as I usually do. This felt like those trips to the store for me, when I re-asses my food priorities, so yes, I know what you mean.
Been focusing on tracking my macros properly for the first time. I've learned a lot about my eating habits and my personal nutrition already in just a few weeks. Would love to see what your meals for this grocery week look like :)
I love love love videos like this and recepies videos, it helps so much to visualize how i can make better choices while eating
Snagged by the thirst trap, HOOK LINE AND SINKER WHITH THIS ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS CONTENT.
Patty, you always brighten my week with your beautiful smile and your super special personality, I love you so much my sunshine.
I freeze egg whites in ice trays and add them to the egg white cube bag… when I need egg whites they thaw fast if needed but may drop them into a hot pan and let them melt in the pan.
Patricia, te amo. Me encanta que seas una persona honesta y humilde con este ámbito de la nutrición, el gimnasio y además, me encanta tu humor. ❤ por favor ven a México 😭
i love the chest supported rows chapter of the video
I love you Patty !! You are my favorite content creator. You are so humble and the most down to earth person I’ve ever watched ! I would actually wanna be your friend in the real world 😂 keep up the good work !
If y'all have Grocery Outlet: it's awesome. They have Grass fed Ground beef for $5/lb, ground venison, turkey, etc. It's such a sleeper store for cool stuff. They even have a NOSH aisle.
Super helpful, down to earth and beautifully edited as always! So happy i found your channel

These usually boring grocery vids are so interesting & this editing is so funny. Even enough to watch for my meal and video time 💀
This shopping content is so gooood😂. I LOVED THE T-SHIRT BTW
I had no idea about that coconut bacteria and after looking it up I'm scared for life lol
Thanks for the info Patty!
We need more people like you, every other fitness influencer are like super clean girl and got it all and it makes everything seem so unreachable. Thank you for being your silly self, I like silly and goofy life be too serious all the time
Turkey is great!!
Absolutely amazing taco meat packed with veggies and protein! i eat with lettuce wraps or low carb tortillas!
absolutely loved your sound effects, particularly the one after you selected your onion flavored bagels💀🤣
Don’t think you’ll see this but actual popcorn kernels have been a hack for me. I got this zero cal chile lime powder and makes me forget about chips. I love that most of your natural ingredients are Whole Foods. Makes it feel and seem more attainable
I like your braids. Didn't even notice until halfway in. Thats pretty creative, Love you
Not the SVU intro 13:52 😂
That shit hit a nerve, I started reliving some things vividly 👁
Thanks for the relatable content 🙏
I really struggle with counting my protein intake and it can become very upsetting since I have had some disordered eatnig habits in the past, but counting the pounds per day is so mind blowing to me. I had never thought of that (as silly as that sounds) and I think you've just changed things drastically for me. Thanks for that.
i just rewatched your old grocery vlog and was hoping you'd post a new one!!
Little trick I learnt working at a melon field patty 4:25
Look for the yellow spot at the bottom, the bigger the yellow the longer it’s spent ripening in the field and hence it’s sweeter
Hola Patty!!! I like it without seeing the video!!! I don't know why but when you don't train your videos are relaxing and entertaining... have a nice week, good vibes.. Mucho amor y saludos !!
Thankyou! Have a good week as well!
Lately haven’t been eating at all literally about 500-700
calories a day cuz I’ve been feeling depressed and watching this reminded me how much I enjoyed grocery shopping might do that and try to eat better ❤
“the lighting is INSAANEEEE” @ 11:45 made me laugh way harder than I should have 💀
Feels like im watching myself grocery shop! Patty always makes it so fun this was great
You've motivated me to be healthy and work out . I started in October and was at 255 lb. At the moment I'm at 185 lb! Started going to the gym about a month ago and love it!
I do a 1/2 ground beef, 1/2 ground turkey mix. Best of both and the turkey kinda blends in. ❤
PS Peeled/chopped avocados are freezable, if you like them in smoothies or guac, so you can stock up. That was a great deal you got. 🙌
The perimeter items are usually more expensive at Safeway. If you go to Aldi or Lidl you can save a ton.
That has got to be the best opening to a video that I’ve seen in awhile
