- a video of our crabbing trip to coos bay oregon. we got our limit in no time of dungeness crab.
bait: chicken - which is the best bait for crab that I've found.
I've found that coos bay is the best place for crabbing on the oregon coast. and the best months are ones that end with an "R".
hope you enjoy the show, and stay tuned for my next crabbing video on the oregon coast.
Great haul! So much fun to watch. Thank you!
P K , If the walls of the crab pots keep spreding apart and not staying lined up, get some "" hog rings ''to fix the gap problem.
You always want to grab crab from the back, so the claws don't pinch you.
PK can you demonstrate how to use a knock/fold down trap.
Don’t I oh I’m in Oregon. I love crabbing it’s a good recreational sport also I love fishing. Hi PK are you frrom Philippines?
No, I'm Cambodian.
Oregon Life oh ok love your show thanks so much for the quick reply I will just continue watching your show .. awesome.🙏🏼
PK, how do you tell the soft shell from the keepers ?
just by touch
Where did you buy the pots and about how much were they
+Joe Carpenter I got mine from bi-mart. they are also on amazon. back then I got them for about $20 each.
Do you sell them or just for consumption?
they all went to my belly
I just bought 2 dungeness crab today from Asian store for $80. Fourty dollars each crab. How unfortunate for us to be living in the South where seafoods are like gold.
$80 for 2 dungies? wow! I'm glad to be in Oregon
Yesss.. $40 each. I live in Tn.
You might want to learn how to handle a crab, at the end you just ripped that crab's claw right off & then it back in the water with the torn off claw. maybe it was because the other crab pinched one of your fingers and you were po.
I fell asleep during "crab handling 101"
PK Yi, you got the most interesting and fun to witch crabbing VIDEO to watch and enjoy th fun of crabbing!
What's the difference between a soft and hard shell , thanks jessie
Soft shell are crabs that recently lost their old shell, and tend to have less meat in them
Mate you both had a good catch take care thanks for the help with the TIPS ON FISHING
Man, I need to get out and do some crabbing. I live here and I don't crab nearly as much as I should. I guess I'm too focused on fishing! Nice video and great haul!
+Ling ling, Herro? thank you. plenty of bays with crabbing docks along the oregon coast. the season is just getting started too.
+PK Yi Yeah, I don't crab from the docks very often. It's fun in the kayak though. I enjoy your videos! I've been subscribed for a while. Give my channel a visit some time. Salmon season is in full swing here on the Coos. I'll be posting videos of those adventures throughout September.
In canada crabs need to be 6.5 inches
When you fish between pulling pots, what are you fishing for? What kind of rigs?
Rock fish. We use a hi-lo rig and sometimes a Carolina rig
Crabbing has been really good here in Coos Bay. If you have Facebook follow Basin Tackle Charleston, they are always giving out crab and fish reports.
+Alex Samuels cool, thanks for the info.
PK Yi
What size is the boat?
14 ft
Wow! Nice to pick and choose!
wow!! I stopped half way during your video to write to you and show my appreciation for your effort. You are an amauture, right?? what is the limit?? I am almost at retiring age and boy I sure would love to join you. I live in Los Angeles.
limit = 12 dungeness per person
Alsea Bay in Waldport has boat rentals, good crabbing too. I would get my limits right off the dock
Cool, thanks for the info.
PK do this place have boat rental and how did those crabs get in the pots . We're going to visit Oregon in August
I don't know if charleston harbor has boat rentals. the pots have 4 trap doors on each side.
What is the minimum size that you get and a rule of thumb?
in Oregon, 5-3/4 inches minimum MALE. You can't keep females
Never will put my hand in there
PK can you demonstrate the best crab pot to use for blue crabs on the East Coast.
Never went to the East coast before to catch blue crabs. They seem smaller and require a smaller mesh. So maybe this pot will work: amzn.to/2NBaYZY
易?
Im going crabbing from a boat in Newport you know of any good spots or where to rake cockles in the bay
Never raked for cockles in Newport before. But I've seen people go out near the 101 bridge clamming. Sorry I don't know much more than that. Good luck.
Bay crabbing sucks right now in newport
what's the difference between hard and soft shell?
hard is meatier
What's that blue wire you use to hold the bait to the cage?
+ktoc89 it's a nite ize tie.
