I think I can tell where this video was inspired from. They were playing near my town in Macedonia in Skopje, MKC, November 2014. The show was in a theatre, with red seats very similar to these ones in the video and guess what - there was an annoying heckler that kept spewing and yelling sarcastic bullshit like "WOW THIS MUSIC IS VERY GOOD" or "BRAVO WHAT A PERFORMANCE" etc.. Jamie and Shayna ignored it like champs. I'm so glad they incorporated that rather unfortunate event into a music video.
this is like the early days of xiu xiu. it was just angela solo playing for hipsters on cocaine in movie theaters. thank goodness the band has progressed past that unsavory stage and is now highly acclaimed and respected!
