when you talk about muriel receiving positive affirmation for doing a good job or rather not receiving it, I always think of who does give her positive affirmation, Crowley. That scen in heaven where I forget what she said, and crowley gives her a fist bump on the shoulder.
Thank you for posting this again. A good reminder in the dark days to come. I don’t know anyone personally that watches/obsessed with GO. So listening to people who rely on this community is reassuring. The way you ended this has brought a few tears.
Sending 🙏🏼🌀❤️to you Sendarya and the rest of the Good Omens community. Thank you for being a light for us all. Shining some of that light back to you. ❤️AziraCrow4Ever
I needed this today. The connection we share with others and feeing accepted and valued just as you are, is important. We all need that reminder. I hope everyone finds their people.
25:34 you imagined that there must be a scene where God is with the devil and they toast To the World. God is also just enough of a Bastard to be worth knowing, and the Devil is just a little bit good (he sticks to the rules at least). I think this is also supposed to tell us that the struggles in life are a part of what makes achievements so sweet and life worth living
Perfectly appropriate choice of video to share today, Sendarya. Processing what has been revealed in the past few days is exhausting and disheartening. My choice of solitary, like Crowley's, leaves me the space to ponder and ruminate, but not having another with whom to reflect, is quite lonely at a time like this. Thank you for providing an inviting place for non-conformists to come together and share ideas and a common appreciation for a brilliant and inspirational programme; it's the one place I truly feel welcomed. 😇😎💜 (Thank you, too, for providing the link for viewing the NT production of 'Nye' today; it was brilliant. I saw your post on the chat, so it was nice to know we saw it together 💜🎭🎟)
I'm very glad that you are here, and part of this fandom. It feels like more than a fandom today. It does feel like a safe home for us non-conformists ❤
For the Michael Sheen fans out there, the play 'Nye' he is in, is streaming for free for a couple of more days on the YTchannel of National Theatre. ruclips.net/video/hpN--d5bXSY/видео.html
Thank you for making this video. I was too lonely and sad to watch it on earlier release when we didn't know about season 3. But it's hitting really well today. I miss everything about the good Omens fandom when it was cheerful, but right now everything hurts.
Bringing up Shadwell was great point. Interestingly, his curmudgeonly strategy of being lonely yet keeping people at arm's length is similar to Crowley's. (Thinking of the way he treats Madam Tracey)
I loved this panel on TIC 😊💖 I think the story of Aziraphale and Crowley & their relationship is put in a nutshell in Companion to Owls, because it involves them not having much in common with their sides, but more with each other and humanity. They meet in the middle as sitting together at the end, having discovered that they go along with their sides as far as they can. A beautiful line! ♥️ I also thought that Muriel finding books were "like people, only portable" is because, having consistently spent hundreds of years alone at a time until someone needed their administrative skills in heaven, they find solace and company in human stories, the way Aziraphale probably did too. Muriel though, still finds earth and humanity strange and alien experience wise.
Have you ever considered analysing the literary references in "Good Omens"? I'd be very curious to hear your thoughts about how e.g. "The Crow Road" is relevant to the story. I don't suppose we'll find out canonically with the truncated finale, so fan meta-analyses are all that's left for us.
I have not done much with the books on Jim's Bookshelf because Douglas McKinnon said those are important books they just hope fans will read. I'm not sure how much any of them has to do with Good Omens, except perhaps in some general themes. I could be wrong, though! Pride and Prejudice did seem to be relevant for season 2, anyway!
@Sendarya Jim's bookshelf is one thing, but I can't shake the feeling there was a specific point why Muriel was given The Crow Road to read, rather than, say, some classic British lit. I have read it, but I confess that any connection there may be went over my head and I was honestly hoping someone cleverer might shed some light on it :)
I’ve watched all of your good omens analysis videos whilst doing my college coursework today and it has single handily gotten me through it. It’s so refreshing to see someone else deep dive into a topic you’re also so passionate about. I’ve just re-downloaded the RUclips app so I could subscribe to your channel! Looking forward to new videos. ❤
Thanks! This was perfect. It soothed some of my season 3 ness and surprisingly some election response too. We are all in this together. We are not alone in this! Bless you and Good Omens!
I appreciate you'll talking about being lonely by choice. I never felt Aziraphale and Crowley were alone because they have each other, but they might be lonely at times. When they can both fully accept each other (looking at you Aziraphale) then they won't be alone or lonely. Maybe they will end up in the garden with a nightingale singing. Thanks for this. I can't really care too much about Gabriel and Beezelbub because they left Crowley and Aziraphale to be punished for helping them.
I like to think Aziraphale and Crowley had each other from the moment they met. That there was a real connection from the start. So they weren't really alone.
As a queer disabled atheist that survives on SSD and Medicare I don't know what my future will be or even if I will be alive next year this time. Project 2025 is a horror show.
There is this one library (can't remember the story) where you can 'check out' a person and sit, talk to them and hear their life story. They had a buddhist monk sitting in the room that you could check out. It's a really good concept.
Sending hugs. I can only offer that there are many, many other people in out group communities that may be able to help if things like the SSD is taken away. We have to depend on each other, and not be afraid to ask for help. I'm so sorry, though. I know, it really is a horror show. We can only hope that the people in charge are too inept to enact much of it.
My heart breaks for you. I'm disabled too, but live in the UK, where we have the National Health Service, fought for and established in 1949 by Nye Bevan. (See the play Nye, currently live streaming FREE on RUclips until Nov 11th and starring one Michael Sheen.) Without the NHS, I would never have walked, never had a life. I can only imagine your situation if Medicare is cut or withdrawn. Sending you love and solidarity/
I would love to be a part of one of these discussions! I’m a theorist and it would be fun to speak about how mental health themes are so intertwined in the narrative.
Feel free to email me! I'm always interested in discussion, and I do hope to do more things like livestreams with guest in the future. We have at least a year of filming and production coming up, and lots of things to talk about! (sendarya.public@gmail.com) I think exploring the mental health themes would be a fascinating topic!
Good Omens is the iconoclastic show it is and season 2 ended the way it did. Amazon had the guts to green light season three and then there were the allegations against Neil Gaiman. You can't mess with Amazon and Bezos if you don't like content but you can take down Gaiman. I read an article the stated that as of the end of October no investigations had been opened or lawsuits either criminal or civil had been filed. There is no evidence of any payments made by him or his people. Nothing. Neil is probably a dark and problematic man if you read his work, but could he be innocent of these allegations? How diabolical if his career was destroyed by the groups he championed cancelling him. It is a difficult week in the US and I am somewhat paranoid, but could it be true?
Hope you're doing okay! Hang in there. We'll get through it all somehow!! By the way, I just got an email invitation from an old friend to join an online community centered on sharing love and supporting each other, etc. I emailed back that I already have that. 🙂 Thanks for all you do!!
I understand Aziraphale's choice better now. It's fight or die because anywhere you run will be affected, too.
Yep. Well said.
A quote that describes my feelings very well at the time: „We‘re fucked“.
As someone who lives in the us, I agree wholeheartedly
❤❤❤❤❤❤

Yes! He's very supportive, and actually askes her questions and listens to her.
When Aziraphale said, "Nothing lasts forever", I was immediately reminded of Gandalf's "This, too, shall pass."
Aw, that's a wonderful way too look at that! Thank you for sharing that.
They kept finding each other, from the first rain at the beginning of the world. That is home.
Thank you for posting this again. A good reminder in the dark days to come. I don’t know anyone personally that watches/obsessed with GO. So listening to people who rely on this community is reassuring. The way you ended this has brought a few tears.
Cama is such an empathic person, her insights always make me cry, too.
0:46 I have never seen so many Crowleys and aziraphales at the same time, but now I wish I would be a part of that x3
Isn't that con footage fun!!??
Sending 🙏🏼🌀❤️to you Sendarya and the rest of the Good Omens community. Thank you for being a light for us all. Shining some of that light back to you. ❤️AziraCrow4Ever
Thank you for that! The only way we'll get through this is all shing those lights back at each other, supporting each other.

It's a beautiful thing to hope for, any day, but today especially. ❤
That was beautifully said.❤

I just watched it. It's incredible. Didn't imagine theater could be that good, entertaining, and moving

wow I absolutely loved listening to you all talk❤️
I'm so glad you enjoyed this!

The horde of aziraphale and crowkey cosplayers made me really giggle! I like that there is so many of them lol
Thank you for this lovely and interesting discussion. Sending love from Europe❤

Thanks for uploading this. It was fun to listen to while I played video games, lol. ❤

fwiw, in the same boat... hope we're all able to find a way to stay afloat through the upcoming storms 🌈

I rely on Medicare as well. I go to a research hospital for my checkups-there's no way I could afford to go there without it.

21:03 hell is competitive only. Competition breeds loneliness.
Edit: Heaven is also competitive - their not collaborative. It's also lonely.
Hope you're doing okay! Hang in there. We'll get through it all somehow!!

Awww.
Well, I think we can all use all the support we can get. I'm so glad you've found such a great community with Good Omens!
