  • Garden bench cushions are all the same you may think? Well think again as there is a lot to consider when making this important decision for your patio or garden area in the home. This short video highlights the most important things to consider when buying a garden bench cushion this summer. The market has been flooded over the last decade with cheaper and less robust cushions for use in and around the garden. You see lots of soft foam like inserts combined with cheap cushion covers. Not only do this not look or feel quite right but they also (in some cases) fail to last a summer or two. As a result you are having to either go back to your supplier in the hope they will help, or hunt around the internet for UK based cushion manufacturers who can come to your help.
Here at Sloane & Sons based in Burton on Trent we have over 26 years of cushion manufacturing right at the heart of everything we do. We know what to use (and what not) having designed and made cushions for commercial events (as well as royalty) down the years all over the world! We pride ourselves in everything we do from selecting a UK based fabric maker to hand stitching the cushions and cutting the compressed fibre inserts ourselves at our Burton on Trent distribution centre.
Hopefully this short video by our MD Edward Sloane will educate you on what questions to ask and what to take into account when purchasing outdoor garden bench cushions in the UK or just a couple of seat pads for your new outdoor dining set.

Colour selection very limited. Need more contemporary colours like grey, white, orange, silver, tan etc

Deceptive. Why did you zoom out when you were demonstrating the foam? I didn't see any water coming out when you squeezed it but water came out from your cushion

You don't want the cushion to hold the water otherwise it will stay wet and get mouldy

lol you squeezed it and water came out, which means the water was retained.

The water did not have enough time to drain from the material guys.

Sherry Keener exactly , that material has more room for air to come through allowing the remaining water to dry quickly.

Guys, with the first cushion, the water pretty much stayed inside- that was the point he was making about why they are bad- you don't want water staying inside your cushions. The second cushion the water pretty much passed straight through, which is what you want. The biggest problem I see is once water gets past the outside fabric- the stuff they say is near 100% waterproof, then that water will have just as hard time getting out as it did getting in. Maybe even harder. I think they make special cushions to account for this, but since this video didn't address it I'm guessing theirs will retain water.

@@Rick-the-Swift I have no idea how you could possibly tell since he held it close to the bowl and it was partially blocked by the cushion on the table. He also didn't zoom in on it like he did with his magical product. Marketing at it's finest. And yes the magic cushion did retain water because he squeezed it and water came out. After the water stopped flowing. You can clearly see this and it wasn't like, a little bit. It was a significant amount, that was my point.

When editing this didn't you notice that the viewer wouldn't see anything, other than you holding a piece of foam and a jug. Very Very Poor

Fos. Water just came out of cushion the second you squeezed the cushion. Don't trust a liar. Wake a way
