I really love these kind of videos of various cities. No talk, just surroundings. This way you have a genuine feel of the city. My Brompton will arrive next week. Bye
Adorably chaotic! I was in Paris for the first time, more or less at the same time as this video, and I walked this same route but in reverse (no Brompton for me there). Went over to Brompton Junction at Rivoli street and I brought some stuff. Great video!
Bonjour, Marc, merci pour le vidéo ! I love biking around Paris when I visit. The Vélib' bikes are pretty good. One of the hôtels I stay at has a couple of very nice ebikes for the guests so I take those when I stay there. You rode by it at 2:15 I wish I could commute by bike here in Los Angeles. 6:47 - ah yes, the Vélib' brake squeak mdr
If I may! Some streets don't have trees for two main reasons, what's below (métro line 1 runs exactly below rue de Rivoli, close to the surface in some areas, planting trees in the ground would become an issue very fast! These tunnels were dug over 100 years ago and have infiltration issues everywhere), and some historic perspectives cannot be changed for 'aesthetic reasons', like avenue de l'Opéra. This means that at the top of the afternoon during summer, it's almost unbearable to walk from end to end. Luckily, the western part of rue de Rivoli has arcades where pedestrians can get fresher air. But then it's always packed, so... This street was absolutely not designed with climate change in mind :D I'd love planters though! Sorry for the irruption!
@@EKsUrbanTracks Thank you for your explenation. I thought so about the 'aesthetic reasons'. Thinking about Georges-Eugène Haussmann, it could be possible to think about new climate design 😃
I see that the 6 speed is a bit complicated with the two shifters, do you think that the 3 gear option is better? I also know that one of the shifters should be shifted while peddling while the other should be shifted while NOT pedalling…
The 3 speed is indeed more simple, as there is only one shifter. But it makes the bike less versatile (for longer journeys, or flat roads). And you get quickly used to the 6 speed, shifting becomes natural after a short period of time. Also, you should indeed not pedaling when shifting the hub gears, but I think it's the same with the 3 speed version.
I suppose the congestion in certain areas is just something you have to get used to , and people using phones and not keeping to the designated lanes is also just the way people think , or not , as the case maybe , just the modern way ! . At least it seems as if the French are trying to help cyclists. Unlike here in the uk , where very little , or indeed no thought at all for the cyclists, from council’s or planner’s etc .

Wow. All these great bike lines! I’m yealous!
Amazing to see so many cyclists on the road. Nice video!
Thanks ! :-)

Hello, thanks for your comment :) Yes commuting in Paris is better and better, with many new bike lanes :)
And shared bikes are quite noisy indeed :))
Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to taking my bike to Paris someday!
So many bikers! And beautiful building all the way through.
Yes ! :) This is one of the most crowded cycle lane in the city :)
I like this video, the sound, the light... 👍
Thank you ! :))
Fun video. The variety of bikes is crazy. I have a 3 speed Brompton and the ability to down shift at a stop is nice. Wheelie boy almost ate it!
Thanks :) Yes Brompton is amazing !
Thanks for the nice bike trip.. I feel better already.. That's my exercise done for the day.. lol.
:))
Quelle belle balade tranquille. Si seulement mon pays fait les aménagements comme ça. Merci d'avoir partagé.
With all the bike lanes it’s such a great way to commute. 👍
¡Que maravilla!
Buenos carriles-bici y mucha gente pedaleando!! 💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Yes bike infrastructure is improving for a few years ! :) That's great to see so many people riding 😁
Stark! Das ist der neue Individualverkehr! Ich war vor ca. 20 Jahren in Paris, mit dem Rad...und hab's überlebt! Kein Vergleich!
For sure ! It has improved a lot for 2-3 years :)
ขอบคุณ สำหรับงานดีๆ🤗
watching from the uk mate, nice to see.
cant wait to see what Paris will look like in a few years time
Paris is improving fast!
Yes indeed, many changes for a few years, that's great ! But still a lot to do to make it a real bike friendly city.
How can it improve with population replacement? It can't.

nice bike lane, wondering we have some here
Nice commute 😀
Wow, that's really crowdy. But not many trees in the streets? Hopefully they will add some now that cars are pushed back a bit.
Yes indeed, no trees here, but fortunately some other streets are greener ! :)

What a wonderful commute!!! Just like the Washington, D.C. beltway at rush hour.😂
paris looks very good to ride bicycle !!!
Yes it has improved a lot those past years :)

Lovely insight into cycling in Paris, thanks for sharing 👍🏼
What kind of bike computer do you have for the Brompton?
Thanks ! :) I have the Sigma BC 9.16
@@marcl9532 You are able to mount it with a bracket on bolt on top of the stem post 🙂
How is it to ride on the Parisian cobbled paths ?
With the Brompton it's not very comfortable, many potholes :/ Fortunately new cycle lanes are in better condition ! :)
@@marcl9532 haha clearly !! I'm sick of Vélib and considering investing in a Brompton, thanks to your video, I think I will finally go for it !
@@LaT00pe Thanks :) Yes the Brompton really worth the cost ! Even more if you take public transit or train, so convenient !
What camera You using marc ? on a chest strap ?
I use the GoPro 9 with its chest mount
wow i dont know there such a city like that, all using bicycle.
its even better in the Netherlands or Denmark 🙂

@12:30 wat
Is that an electric brompton?
No it's not electric. It's the M6L version.

Lovely that your city accepts bicycles! Ours won’t, because governors don’t ride
Ja, when politicians are sensitized and act it can improve fast !
Say "Hi" to the Brompton Junction on your right at 6:10 😉
😁👍
I would prefer an old, 2" tyre mountain bicycle without suspension, like specialized hard rock, pump the tyre to 45.-50 psi.
Wow, look at the cool bike lanes all over europe. Only in Germany its still „Auto, Auto über alles“🤢 🤮
Can you tell me the computer settings for brompton? (the correct input figure for this size wheel)..
The settings on my bike computer is 16" - I have the Sigma BC 9.16 ATS
