    for some reason the mini really attracts the masochistic foody that goes to great lengths to cook with it or make it better. It's truly the nerdy treasure trove of outdoor stoves and i just love all that content of men going all the way to make the mini work wonders.

    A couple of strap clips riveted on the outside of the windshield would just finish it off nicely. You must be the ultimate Trangia fan! Well done!

    IF Trangia actually made one of these in Titanium including the burner they would have a big success on their hands !

      Trangia need to stop bothering with their silver aluminium set completely and just make non-stick everything using the same Teflon-coated hard annodized aluminium that GSI uses for their Soloist and Dualist pot kits. I literally don't use my Trangia anymore because I grew very tired of having to SCRUB it clean, whereas with my GSI Soloist pot, I only have to gently WIPE that thing clean with a fluffy towel with no effort at all and everything comes off the same way it would from a Tefal frying pan at home.

  • @johndoogan3712
    @johndoogan3712 3 года назад +2

    Hi, you guys really should do a copy of the Trangia Lykta lantern. This has been unavailable for many years and whenever one comes up for sale on eBay, it sells for a lot of money, when you could get them they only cost a few dollars etc back then.

      Trangia Windshield 27L Lower - 93 grams - cost $16.70 (USD)
      Windshield 27L Upper - 167 grams - cost $23.80
      260 grams - $40.50
      Trangia 1L aluminum Saucepans - $6.80 each
      Inner - 79 grams
      Outer - 83 grams
      162 grams - $13,60
      Save 98 grams (is less due the used bolts), and $26.90
      In raw numbers the gain are little, but in % expressive, around 40% of the weight for 34% of cost.
      Well, and $$$$ in tools for make the "mod". ;)

    Buy a colander with a raised base/lip (use the raised base/lip for sitting the pot/kettle on) hole cut the bottom of the colander out.

    I'm just trying to get kitted out I've got a gas cassette cooker but it's way too bulky so I'd love to be able to afford a trangia stove kit just to be able to boil some water as I'm dehydrating my foods for weight saving etc

    The idea is to have something lite.

    • @marzsit9833
      @marzsit9833 3 года назад

      the idea is to have something that works like a trangia 25 or 27 in the wind, not just a simple lightweight pot stand. i've been on high mountain hikes where people with simple pot stands had to eat their food cold because their lightweight stove setup wouldn't work in the wind.

    All you need to do is gather up rocks around your alcohol stove to protect it from the wind.
