How-to: Use Logic's Built In Net Send and Net Receive Plugins

In this video I will explain the AU Net Send and AU Net Receive Plug-ins built into Logic Pro which enable you to pipe audio from an audio track to a MIDI track.
These are incredibly useful in cases where you may wish to do MIDI automation with audio data specifically, or to listen to another Mac on the same network. You could also share ideas this way, playing together remotely.
PS. Sorry for the plosives in this video. I had a microphone die on me recently and I'm using a temporary mic until I can sort something out.

Wonderful. I have a downstairs studio (iMac), but wanted to check mixes on my upstairs entertainment center (Mini). I came across this video after searching, and it works perfectly for my needs. I couldn't get a connect over Ethernet until I enabled wifi on both Macs. Why is this? Is the streaming accomplished over Ethernet or wifi?

I just upgraded to a Mac M1 running Sonoma, and am no longer able to get Net Send working (receiving on an older Mac and OSX). Is it still working for everyone on newer Macs?

I no longer have two Mac’s to try it out on, but the next time I’m with a friend I will try it.
I was able to get it working on the same Mac in the same Logic session, but obviously it needs to be tested between more than one machine.

been trying for a long time but I can't seem to get the receiver to connect. It just says "connecting" but nothing happens. Any help? I'm on Monterey. Cheers

OK, here are a few questions, maybe one of them will trigger a thought or two.
1. Are you on the same actual network when trying this? If no, that could be the problem.
2. Do you have multiple machines with the same Bonjour name that could be confusing the situation? If so, give each machine a unique name so the plug-in knows exactly which machine to connect to.
3. Did you disable WiFi, because your machines are all connected via Ethernet? If so, this could’ve cause problems, both with this kind of thing, and also Airdrop and Handoff working correctly. Try re-enabling WiFi, even if you’re not connecting to a particular network.
Hopefully something here works.
