Greylock was a native American who, for many years in the 1720s or so, raided settlements and scattered frontier farms in order to drive whites from the land. He was a terror to settlers (Unsettlers!!) for a couple decades. He never compromised or negotiated. He finally just moved to Canada instead. But he was never captured or defeated in the Colonies. One tough cookie!
Incredible views from atop the mountain! I especially liked the pic of the cabin on the pond; it was so peaceful. Excellent quality in your videos as always. Thank you so much for the ride!
Interesting information about the newt. Nice picture of the building overlooking the pond. Looks like you are getting some nice weather, and I am sure you and Tina brighten each other's day, whether the sun is shining or not. Katahdin is starting to peek over the horizon, so be strong and hike on!
Sorry for all the comments but wanted to tell you how great the video is: Great views, great videography and film quality as uszghe, cute newt and so many great things - what a topo map sculpture. You're walking for those who can't (sprained ankle so literally) Bless you both.
Jay I love your videos and the pictures you take are beautiful. 😊. The views from the monument are gorgeous! The lesson on the newt was interesting! You and Tina make a great couple!! Hike on your almost to Maine!! 🇺🇸😊🙏🌸
Dynamic duo ! Nice balance of energy and responsibilities.Good to have 2.. Glad you are able to enjoy New England properly (Boston Cream)), that is a great area of Massachusetts. Now get ready for grit, grime and being a feast for bugs of the North... best of luck
“Point” is Stevens Point, a town in central Wisconsin near the Wisconsin River. It has a UW university, so a slightly more diverse population, which means that there are slightly better restaurant options there than in the surrounding towns.
Boston Cream Powered hiking.... The best kind. Idk about Tina's choices!🤔 Glad you survived the sugar high, and crash. That plus properNewtknowledge makes for a good video indeed. Hope you spot another bear soon.
Wow, approaching 1600 miles!!! I’m sure y’all are beginning to see the light!!!! Even though y’all have just a few hundred miles to go, I am getting sooooo excited!!! I have been “couch” hiking with y’all from Day 1, & I have enjoyed watching almost every day!!! I’m rooting for you & Tina! Keep it going!!!!🤗🤗🙏🏾
You're in my back yard! I was once told that Mt Monadnock was the most climbed mountain in the world, but not sure if this is true. Mt Wachusetts is a local ski area, and a bicycle stage race that all the great professional cyclists have climbed, including Lance Armstrong and Greg Lemonds.
Interesting Eastern Newt. You stayed on top of Greylock for a good amount of time. You showed us around, thank you. New Hampshire and southern Maine will definitely slow you done, but it's beautiful.
So far none. Every morning we both apply piccaridin based lotion liberally onto our legs and we've been lucky so far. I only hope we can keep finding that stuff as we move on. I have had 2 ticks crawling up my leg and I brushed them off. The 1st I believe was a lone star type.
I remember when my friend and i climbed Mt Greylock in the 80s the weather was like what you and Tina had, their was a guy we meant on the way up, he was wearing a full-length Fur coat it looks so heavy and hot, I do not know he did it. Blackritz
I can’t remember the last time I ate a Boston crème donut! Very nice view of Greylock. 😊 it’s incredible how unique and breathtaking the views are in each state you’ve visited. Thank you both for sharing it with us. Especially to trail-avoiding individuals like myself 😳✌🏼🤷🏻♀️🇺🇸❤️
Glad you had sunshine 🌞 on your day on top of Mount Greylock. We were not so lucky on Saturday...socked in with fog 😢. However meeting up with PHD and Mushroom made our 2 hour drive worth it!!! BTW we are only 20 minutes away from Mount Wachusett.
Boston Cream has nothing real in them.. not even the cream. Full of ingredients that we don't need. But if you're hiking 2,200 miles, I guess you can eat anything. Need the calories.
Wow, I know why Tina is always in front of you. Sorta like a rabbit chasing a carrot. Can’t believe how fast she is. You two would have beautiful kids if you ever went down that trail. Lol
A new way of hiking, donut blazing.

Yea for Brian and family for taking good care of Jay and Tina!! I've bet your hospitality was much appreciated.
Thank you for the newt info. Fascinating, l would have never known they can live that long. Nicely done again my friend ✌️
That tower looks like a chess playing piece... funny. The newt facts was great, loved to hear that! Hope you two are having a great hike :)
What a gorgeous day this was, truly! That memorial is absolutely stunning, inside and out and I love that it has a beacon through the night!
You two have great smiles. Thanks for sharing your hike.
I really appreciate the way you're "doing" the AT. You give us glimpses of things none of the others seem to. Good on y'all!

Cute lake, and check out those Woofer Speakers on the frog.
There’s a Korean Lunchbox in Point that had the best Bi bim bap! That meal you have there looks even better! Beautiful views on this stretch too!

We went to Mt Greylock for our Ma section. It was so nice up there. We drove to the top though (we’re slackers.)

That Korean food looked so good. Empty plate at the end verifies it was 😁
Great video. Must be just shy of Rutland right around now.?
I’m so glad pocket rocket is hiking with you … I’ve been working SOOOO much I gotta catch up on your videos 👏🏼

I know you have been using Permethrin on you close and some gear, so have you had any attached ticks?

@@JayWandersOut That is wonderful; I will use Picardin as well. I have had some doubt about Wearing shorts, because of ticks. I will reconsider.
the frog is the great North American bullfrog and they get huge up here
I could taste that donut!!! Yum!!

time to think about the 100 mile wilderness
What’s your plans for after you finish? Have you done the PCT?
Our plans for after the finish is drink a bunch of mimosas and sleep in the next morning. Keeping it simple for now.

You're coming up to my neck of the woods soon. Maybe I'll see you in the Whites! I'm doing a section of the AT with my Grandson in a few weeks.
