FBI profiler Elizabeth (Megan Boone) meets career criminal Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) in the September 23rd premiere episode of The Blacklist.
Level implies that there is a hierarchy. There is, but he isn't a part of it because his idea of acting is so unique that it doesn't fit in because of its brilliance
Ultron may not have been his best work, but fun fact: that fight in Stark Tower was written entirely because the rest of the cast wanted to have a scene with him so they could watch him work. That’s how you know when someone’s on another level.
His eyes. His voice. His character. His laughter.. ALL THE ABOVE are both inviting, alluring, chilly, petrifying and mysterious.. James Spader really nailed this character. Shame on the Emmy awards, he deserves another trophy.
Jacob Politte don’t expect them to understand him %100 he is far a head of them .he planned this from beginning to perfection at the end.from A to Z even he had a plan for the closest to him when they betrayed him .this guy is on another level.i think I really want to know about his real character and he who really truly is??? Than to know about real redington !!!
Wait why cant he be Red and the bones are just as fake as the "results" that were given to liz when she was with that first Russian dude with the disease.
because it's kinda lowkey. They seem to be keeping it fresh while tying together the story. Never miss an episode. Normally crime shows get repetitive and decline or get canceled but this one has managed to top itself almost every season.
@@tominagy145 breaking bad wasn't a bad show. It was just ungodly slow in the beginning. Like someone else already mentioned, it actually started getting exciting after season 3 came around. This show got exciting practically every season.
Keen: "and I'm supposed to believe you?" ... Red: "hahahahahaha, no, of course not, I'm a criminal. Criminals are notorious liars." Spader nails this character. Good show, looking forward to more!
Spader's voice alone is intimidating enough. Putting it in an adamantium body with a supercomputer brain and armed to the teeth with weaponry that would make Tony Stark's bowels loosen is just overkill.

Even though Red told Lizzie that he wasn't her father in the mid-season finale, I always think back to his line "Criminals are notorious liars" and wonder if he lied... Tricky.
Sadly, it does not extend to audiobooks. Listening to Dean Koontz's STRANGE HIGHWAYS read by Spader, the voice becomes monotonous. He's better acting than reading.
Everything about him is perfect. His facial expressions, gestures, even his tones are just synchronized with the act. He is the character not just trying to be him. Damnn
It is magnificent how one character, played by one man, is still pulls forward this show. James Spader and his character is the only reason, I'm still watching Blacklist.
"I'm gonna show you something beautiful. The whole world screaming for mercy. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change." Man, James Spader, i wish i had your voice:(
Its still one of the best shows on TV but it wouldn’t be without Spader. It’s because they insist on dragging out this secret which apparently isn’t that important meanwhile the relationship between Liz and Red depends on it. That’s the only reason people are still interested because we STILL don’t know what his intentions are.
James Spader is so awesome, his portrayal of Ultron, a robot capable of causing an Extinction Level Event, is the SECOND most badass character he has ever played!
The two of them almost have a Hannibal Lecter and Clarisse Starling vibe beginning in this scene and continuing through the rest of the series. Well done!
Those complaining about 'predictability' never learned about Dramatic Irony in school. Dramatic irony -- a narrative in which the reader knows something about present or future circumstances that a character in the story does not know. It doesn't make it 'bogus'. Not everything has to be a complete mystery for it to be enjoyable.
I'm sure James Spader will be awesome as Ultron in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron". I hope they give Ultron a personality like this, combined with an extreme hatred of humanity and of the Avengers. That, and since he and RDJ are good friends, those two should have some amazing chemistry on screen.
Ultron - How could you be worthy? You're all killers you want to protect the world but you don't want it to change. There's only one path to peace...your extinction. I had a vision the whole world screaming for mercy. Everyone tangled in strings.....strings, there are no strings on me.
"Everything about me is a lie" is the most underrated phrase said in tv history because nobody pays attention and yet says everything about the show and the character.
He is droll, calm, face is carefully placid...until he sees Elizabeth. Then you can see the undisguised pleasure in his eyes, in his smile. For a man who seemingly had everything, he looks at though he is getting what he TRULY wants in this moment.
I wonder what Reddington would have done for this extremely elaborate plan that he's got going on if Liz hadn't decided to become an FBI agent, what if she had become a photographer or something instead?
He's really just at a level as an actor that is nearly impossible to reach.

Everything he is and does, is a must watch show..😉
This show would be nothing without James spader. He really makes the show
It’s like he’s the main character 🤯
No way really is that so?
@Ks He appears very little in the episodes. He is not considered the main character, but only by name. He is considered the main character
He is the only reason the show has 7 seasons.
Nothing but facts
Now 9
His monologues alone could carry the show for 10 more
Don’t disrespect Dembe and Haram like that
Despite that the show should have ended at season 6... And that's being generous
“Everything about me is a lie.”
Season 5 finale revealed that to be true. The clues start here.
