Good isolation with a rubber dam is paramount to the success of the case. There was distinct radiographic evidence of proximal decay found on the distal aspect of tooth number 4. Vitrabond was placed and bonded on the axial wall prior to acid etching and application of bonded materials. It was placed to insulate and protect the pulp. A wedge was initial placed as sulcular barrier. The composite resin was carefully placed using incremental layering techniques to avoid adding to the "C-factor." GC
