Thanks Stuart! I bought the Jimny from Italy simply because of the less rust that they have over there :) After the 3 years of my driving in muddy conditions some rust has sadly started to appear (mostly behind the headlights)
I was waiting too! There aren't many channels about Jimny and you certeinly are a source of inspiration for many of us! I loved the videos about the trip adventures!
You need calipers from the 2002 to 2008 era Renault Megane models. I hope that helps ;) The negative part is that these Megane calipers dont have the best handbrake.
Megane 2 model has two different rear brakes with 240mm disks and 270mm. You need for 240mm, brake caliper carrier left side 7701069125, 77 01 055 012 (TRW - BDA970), right side - 7701069126 (TRW - BDA971).
Thank you too! I belive, the Samurai has a bit different construction so it won't be the same as with the Jimny. However, I have seen Samurais fitted with a hand brake mounted on the transfer case. Try researching that out ;)
Because the Renault Megane calipers are not always the same. There have been some variations on the production line. In effect, sometimes one might need a spacer, sometimes you wont need it...

Love the vids George. I’m a young Jimny driver in Ireland so these videos give me a lot of inspiration. Thanks for the great content mate 👌👌
Much appreciated mate :) It's nice hearing that the content I put efforts into creating is having an impact.
@@The4x4Lab for sure. Your content portrays the passion you have for yours and everyone else’s Jimny’s keep it up
Very useful, you have talent for this. Best wishes from a Samurai owner from Romania!
Doing my best and glad it gets noticed! Thank you very much!
P.S I'm planning an offroad trip from Romania this year ;)
@@The4x4Lab I hope you enjoy your trip!
ARB power. Great video and made in Bulgaria!
no ARB in this video - but yeah, made in Bulgaria :)
Excellent. I am slightly jealous of the lack of rust on your Jimny... but great video. I too have that kit on my car.
Thanks Stuart!

Good videos mate . Keep em comming. Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Wow, that 's from far away, thank mate! Do you drive Suzukis over there in Nepal?
@@The4x4Lab Yes we do 😄😄😄
@@lonewolfvlogix6335 Great! I guess it's only the folks in the US that don't have the Jimny... poor people 😄
@@The4x4Lab hahaha . we do have lots of Vitara
polezno , podrobno i iasno !
Благодаря!
Finally! :)
haha, so someone has been waiting for this :D These videos take quite some time to put together :)

Hey mate great video… just wondering why you can’t just hook the stock brake lines back up to the calipers? Thanks
Good question. You need to bend and pull them quite a bit to reach the new hook points. If they survive, you can use them 😉
nice clean job and great video, any noticeable difference on the stopping distance and heating on the brakes? i want to do the same on my SX4.
I wouldn't say it's noticeable. Most of the weight falls on the front wheels when stopping, so they are the most important.
Very nice, clear videos and nice and short..
Do you have a link to the exact calipers one needs to source?
Are there any negatives to the disc breaks?
You need calipers from the 2002 to 2008 era Renault Megane models. I hope that helps ;)
The negative part is that these Megane calipers dont have the best handbrake.
But you have low range that's better than a hand brake, right? xD

What are your thoughts on black raptor adjustable shocks ?
I haven't tried other adjustable shocks to be able to compare but these are good :)
If I buy the brake hoses of the conversion kit on jimnybits, do I need to create that copper brake line?
Buying the brake hoses is the better option 😎 I just decided on this cheaper alternative.
Good day. Do you know if this kit will fit inside standard factory wheels?
It will ;)
What's your opinion on this procedure working on a 1999 Samurai (Santana)?
Thank you for the video anyway, subscribed!
Thank you too!

Where did you get the junction box for copper lines
Just a regular metal 3 way connector ;)
Great video except didn’t you mean Megan pads in the Megan caliper not jimny ones.
Thanks :) These are Megane calipers and pads.
Hi can you send me a link where i can get conversion kit for rear disc from
Ah, I feel I should get paid for doing this hahah :D
Here you go
www.jimnybits.com/jimny-98-18/brakes/jimny-rear-disc-conversion.html
Why does it come with a spacer for the discs?
Because the Renault Megane calipers are not always the same. There have been some variations on the production line. In effect, sometimes one might need a spacer, sometimes you wont need it...
can you use renaul megane discs and pads also?
Nope, the Megane's discs are made for different wheels, thus bolt patterns.
@@The4x4Lab makes sense :)) and i presume the brake pads should be wider for a different size disks. Thank you very much for the video
Can the handbrake be used as fiddle or cutting brakes. If the handbrakes are operated independently?
Theoretically, it could be used like that, yes.
Will this conversion work on JB23W? Thanks in advance
It should work, but best to get in touvh with Jimnybits to make sure.
Can this conversion work on the suzuki escudo 2001
I recommend you ask Jimmnybits' Support team directly
Are you form Croatia?
Trying a new country on every second video? :D
Never use plain copper line. Its not pressure rated. Use Nickel-Copper (nicopp) for the line.
That's a good clarification - Thanks! 😉
Какой размер колёс?
30/9.5/15
can u tell me disc size
These are the same discs that you use at the front. ;)
