    No views, ok youtube.
    Also I should have been more clear, I'm not comparing who hates who more, I know the rest of the world are doing atrocious things to Eldians also, I'm more so curious on how exposure to Paradis and controlling the source of Eldians for some time along side information and manipulation, may influence their hatred and mentality towards it. Compared to a nation on the other side of the globe that dont have to live under such a large constant threat of Eldians and the source of titans to such a degree, But each to their own I guess.

      Wonder why people keep saying it's eren's fall. He saw the future (clarification: no one can see the future, it's just the future eren sends his past attack titan holders visions). So out of all people, he should be the one who knows what's he's doing. Is there a possibility that there may be a twist?

    thats a deep question. My answer is, what did everyone who attacked Erin's home expect to happen when they took all his options away? This is not the action of a psychopathy, or a born monster nor is it even the final death throes of a lost cause. Erin and Ymir are victims who were made into monsters. I am not justifying what they did, neither Erin for giving the command or Ymir for giving Erin the power to do so. I'm saying that if you treat someone like a monster and less then human, then they themselves will start to believe it. Be careful who you make into a victim, for one day they might hold the power. And everyone in the titan world is guilty. It doesn't matter if they fed children to dogs, looked away while it happened or supported the system that allows cruelty to flourish, everyone who takes part in a corrupt society is guilty by allowing said society to exists. And it was no secret, everyone knew what was being done to the descendants of Ymir, they talked about it in open forums and announced their plans on broadband radio.Everyone knew.and.they.cheered. The major world powers announced genocide with the sound of thunderous applause. I have no sympathy for anyone outside of Paradise. Let. the. rumble. march.

    If you look into retrospective, the acceleration of the world genocide is given to Willy Tybur's fault.
    To be clear: Willy Tybur did not actually hate Eldians. He did not think Eren was a devil. He certainly did not think Paradis was a problem.
    He is the ruler of Marley. Marleyan aggression backed by the power of the titans has allowed them to expand their borders and bring wealth to their nation through imperialism.
    As a result of that unrestricted aggression the world at large has developed intense hostilities for Marley and the titan powers. What Willy did was try to scapegoat Paradis claiming that the "real" threat was Paradis. This was a desperate gambit. Modern weaponry was quickly overcoming the power of titans and so he made up a story to try and save Marley from paying the price of centuries of tyranny and oppression. As a result the world rallied against Paradis drawing their attention away from Marley and allowing them time to consolidate their power.
    In other words Willy Tybur's plan was to exterminate the entire population of Paradis so that Marley could avoid the consequences of their exploitation of Eldians and the titan powers. This is beyond despicable or immoral. This is evil.
    There did exist a brief window where peace could have been achieved without substantial bloodshed. The world was rightfully rallying against Marley. If Zeke and the other warriors defected and used their powers to overthrow Marley with a coalition of its enemies then as part of peace negotiations Marley would cede territory and Eldians would be granted their own independent nation. Old borders would be restored, Marley would be back to neutral standing on the world stage, and Eldians would have a much better chance at freedom. Billions wouldn't have had to die, Paradis would be peacefully reintegrated into the greater world.
    In summary: It's all Willy Tybur's fault that billions had to die. Eren did nothing wrong. Zeke fucked up.
    And don't tell me Zeke's plan would've work better than Eren's. The eldians and subjects of Ymir would still be exploited but not just like the slaves of Marley, but as slaves to the entire world. What Eren does was an ultimatum given by Tybur and Marley. They tried for peace and they were constantly denied. Eren is going to create a garden of Eden within of Paradise to stop the world from eradicating the island.
    In conclusion: what else choices would Eren had? To continue with Zeke's plan and watch his people die with even more humilation? A peace that wouldn't even lasted because eldians are being called the devils of the world? Or to secure its survival through the most brutal way possible? I'll leave you all to decide.

    • @anonymity11
      @anonymity11 5 лет назад +31

      Well said, I forgot about Tybur's speech. People are focused on the past sins of the Eldians, but have forgot that present day Marley is essentially what the Eldian empire used to be. Marley currently holds the most power in the world and are desperate to hold on to it. They are afraid that the technology of the world will catch up with the power of the titans and Marley will lose its advantage. That is why they wanted the coordinate and even the oil reserves on paradise. It's not about correcting past sins, it's about greed and power, and using present day Eldians as scapegoats.

    • @ezrataylor2956
      @ezrataylor2956 4 года назад +7

      Very well said. Essentially, Marley has put on the table “It’s all of us, or the island of paradis, one has to go”, and Eren being a total savage said “alright then”. Eren wouldn’t have taken such drastic measures if they hadn’t forced his hand

In order to change anything sacrafices are needed some can even give up there own humanity. He's given up more then anyone else in the entire story to accomplish his goal of freedom and Ymir waited for 2000 years for someone to set her free and Eren is the only one in history who isn't a slave to anything but freedom.

When he learned what Marley did, he saw them as the devils, and would do anything to annihilate them even if he would need to side with the enemy for awhile. This is evident as to what Eren did for Mikasa when she was kidnapped. He didn't have second thoughts on risking his life for a girl he barely knew, and this mindset carried on until what he is currently. The only thing that changed on Eren when he is now a young adult was the amount of patience he had, he sided with the enemy (Zeke) just to attain the power to annihilate all living outside Paradis Island.

      Right, cause Marley likes exploiting the Eldians ability to turn into giant man-eating monsters to subjugate the rest of the world. Not to mention Marley is ruled by the Tybur family who are Eldians themselves. But now that the world is progressing in science and more traditional modern day weaponry, they are being left behind due to their reliance on titans as weapons (gee, how ironic). Hence their pointing fingers at Paradisians as the Devils of the Island who threaten the worlds safety. It is all just a big power struggle for Marley and ignorance and fear from the rest of the world which was further perpetuated by Willy Tybur. Marley is no different to Eldia in their warring and desire for power over others, and now with a perfect scapegoat (Paradis and Eren Yeager), they will also get control of the resources on the island so they can continue to stay in power and have an advantage over the other nations of the world. That isn’t the point anyhow, we were discussing why asshats who think it’s better for Eldians to roll over and die are retarded and with no sense of loyalty to characters we have been pushed to become invested in for over 100 chapters now for little apparent reason besides “oh, Eren is evil!!”. Boohoo. Life’s tough, get over it. The world can go fuck itself, Team Yaeger to the end.

      @@chainedscythe2000 Cool cool. I care about the 10+ characters with unresolved character arcs literally standing around and doing nothing and those who only care about Eren are fine with them never doing anything again, which is fair, but that doesn't make it not shit writing. My other main problem is that Eren could've cooperated with his friend and allies and defend Paradis, threatening enemies, while trying to form diplomatic relations. Only if that doesn't work rumbling is justified.

    • @chainedscythe2000
      @chainedscythe2000 5 лет назад +2

      Rughjnnyuhbgg Can’t say much about characters who we still need updates on such as Levi and Annie but Eren is by far the most well written character and the protagonist. It’s only fair. As for the other characters, they either still have roles to play or they are irrelevant at this point. There’s not that much left to cover and most of those characters arcs could be finished in one chapter, perhaps the final one like in Tokyo Ghoul.
      As for your other problem. I can only say you need to reread the last 25-30 chapters or so. The world *literally* declared war on Paradis in chapter 100. Eren’s attack on Liberio gave them time, the beast titan (for the rumbling) and a headstart in the war (by killing a lot of important officials of other nations and whatnot - planned by Willy Tybur and Magath to further the worlds hate and fear of Eldians but what choice did Eren have? His attack bought them time and gave Paradis a way to survive). Eren’s “friends and allies” meanwhile were twiddling their thumbs in wonderland while pondering on who should eat him since he only has a few years left. They even had the gall to chide him while he was fighting for them, those so called ‘friends’ aren’t worth any more screen time if you ask me. Fuck ‘em.
      On top of this, recent chapters have literally been to show that there was NO other way, no peace, no diplomacy, no chance of survival without the rumbling. The world doesn’t even want to listen to what the ‘devils’ have to say. And threats wouldn’t work either and even if did it wouldn’t be for long given advancements in weapon technology making titans severely underpowered in comparison and hence lead to eventual Eldian extermination. The 145th King Fritz has already threatened them once with the false promise of rumbling which Eren is now making true. They were warned (unbeknownst to the 145th King Fritz of course). But what happened? They sent their little warriors to test out the walls and “retrieve” the co-ordinate. So they could fuck over Paradis and the rest of the world themselves. Only the asians seem to have some sympathy - though probably with ulterior motives. So essentially, this was the last option. There was nothing else that could be done. Kill or be killed.
      All this time Eren has been suffering. He knows all this. He knows what the world wants. He’s been left with no choice. Either die or fight to protect your loved ones at the cost of destroying the world. Do you think he wanted to do this? That he didn’t look for another way? That he is a heartless monster? If so then you haven’t been paying the slightest arrention to the story.

    I'm with Eren all the way. He's become a great character and, dare I say, incredibly based. However I also understand Marley and the rest of the world's point of view.
    I feel like people need to be reminded that the Great Titan War and the subversion of the Eldian Empire happened only some 100 years ago; people do not forget that easily and, of course, children will learn from their parents. And let's be real, I feel like the world has some pretty just cause to fear the Eldians: people who can randomly transform into giant monsters? We as the readers find that normal because it's fiction, anything goes, but put yourself in the shoes of a resident of that world. You would want nothing to do with those people, I'm sure.
    And then there's the fact that a single person, the Founding Titan, can control any Eldian at will. That's extremely threatening. Sure enough, King Fritz made it so any royal heir will follow in his footsteps of non-aggression, but what assurance is there for the world that the Founding Titan couldn't be simply snatched away and somehow used for war? Case in point, what Eren's doing right now.
    Regardless, it's become a situation where everyone is right and wrong at the same time, and I love it. Clearly it's become a point where Eldians and the rest of the world simply cannot co-exist, as we've been shown many times in the manga. I'm with Eren right now, but if Marley turned around the tables and somehow eliminated Paradis, I feel like I'd be fine with that, too. What I wouldn't want is a cop-out ending where the power of love somehow makes things right.

    Great video as usual!
    I don't particularly agree with some of the points you made but I can see where you are coming from. I personally thought the world's view on Eldians, or particularly the one's on Paradis, was made pretty clear since chapter 100. When the world leaders gathered in Marley for Tyburs speech, they did not cautiously agree, they were in tears cheering.
    Again, in the latest chapter, during the international conference, the guy that was speaking was asking for support for non-Paradisian Eldians across all nations and I quote "It is only the devils of that Island that deserves our hatred, now as ever!" (This is from the official translation), this sounds to me that hatred of Eldians is the norm across all nations.
    With that in mind, I truly do not think there is another option for Eren that he can support. His priority has always been to protect his loved ones and the people of Paradis. Every alternative is just a huge gamble and right now, a gamble is not what Paradisians can take if they want to survive.
    Maybe that's the message Isayama is trying to give us; that people are not born good or evil, it is the circumstances that we are placed in, the options that we are given that makes people do what they do. Everything that happened, starting from Ymir, has lead Eren down this path, to put him in this situation where he has to choose between the world or his people. Yes, like I mentioned earlier that there are alternatives but there are no alternatives that does not scream a big fat 'MAYBE'. There is no ideal solution, Isayama did not commit so many panels to show that Eren had no other options for no reason. It has been shown that Eren has tried to go down the peace route, but the world nations has tied his hands. From Eren's perspective, every alternative is flawed but there is only one that is absolute and that is the path that he has taken.
    It is not right or justifiable, but I think Eren knows that more than anyone, but the circumstances in every aspect of Eren's life from the start has lead him here to this point and he has to choose.

    I don't think Eren deliberately wants to take any life, nor do I think he's inherently evil. These recent chapters have made me think about one scene. The scene when eren, reiner and falco are all together in that basement listening to Tyburs speech. Specifically that soft smile Eren gave as tybur reached the end of the speech and declared war against paradise. Aside from the planning Eren has been doing, it feels like, to him, he's always left the fate of humanity in their own hands. His goal is simply to protect his people from unjustifiable death. The moral is that no one on this earth truly deserves death, especially for something they had nothing to do with. If both sides (ymir subjects vs. Humanity) could instead come together and assimilate naturally, that would be the ideal situation. But the reality is in this story the same as it is outside in the real world. Both sides thinking the other is of malevolent nature and fighting for survival because they feel pushed into a corner and know nothing else. (Marley by newfound titan power or paradise by the rest of the world.)

    Eren is the biggest slave of all in ironic hindsight. Eren's "self" was predetermined by the memories and events that his future self imposed on his father and himself. Eren is a slave to freedom. He is a slave to his destiny. He is a slave to freeing Ymir and their people. His choices were to place his hopes in the world changing or to take the world by force in order to change. The choice was made for him by a world that refused to change. He is upset and cries not because he's free. Because he is a slave to what he has to do for his PEOPLE'S freedom. Because remember, Eren is living on borrowed time with the powers of the Founder, the Warhammer, and the Attack Titan. More likely than not, he will not live through this and he knows this. That's why he has to "risk it all for a glimmer of freedom". But his people will be free, possibly with the cooperation of the subjects of Ymir and the world against Eren or otherwise, for better future.

      @@marcusaurelius2013 Thank for the comment. Yes and no. Eren having the ability to send memories back into the past does give him the ability to "change fate/destiny/etc" so to speak. But this is a paradox. This freedom of future Eren is imposed on younger Eren who now longer has the choice but to walk on the path that was laid out for him. So it both freedom and slavery depending on the perspective of Young vs Older Eren. And Mikasa could never not awaken her Ackerman powers. The reason for this is because Eren survived Mikasa's family massacre by encouraging Mikasa to "fight". Had he not, this could and would have resulted in his or both of their deaths. Now, I'm not sure why Armin has become a Titan shifter, but I'm certain this somehow plays a key role into the story. Perhaps Eren intends to fight against the world to unite the world agaisnt him and deem his people as heros to the world when they all turn against him. Perhaps while he does this he is sending memories of his actions to be looped back into previous memories. Eren spends numerous lives fighting the world and dying at the hands of loved ones to constantly, slightly adjust the course of history till he reaches one where they are all free. This last bit about Armin and Eren is all speculation, of course.

    Well, Eren did believed in the piece option, but when the " League of Nations " reunion about the Eldian people put all their hatred at the Eldians in Paradis, Eren understood that not only Marley, but all the nations outside the walls of Paradis would always blame the Eldians in Paradis, and the cicle of hate would continue even with the destruction of Marley. And also, its not like the Eldian Empire back in the days conquered only Marley, but basically the entire World, Marley is only the central piece of hate against the Eldians, but the entire World agrees with then: Eldians ( at least the ones in the wall ) must be exterminated. Sure there are innocent people outside the walls and through the World, but the question is: the arabian kid that stole Levi and the others at the refugee camp would be so friendly towards Eren, Mikasa, Armin and all the others, if they know that they were Eldians? The answer its almost certain no. The hate and racism towards Eldians ( mainly to the ones in Paradis ) is so old and natural in every nation conquered by the Eldian Empire, that there really are space for talking, peace and connection after so much hatred being cultivated? Eren's actions are surely exaggerated and mostly Impossible for us, the readers, to agree, but can anyone really blame him for taking such desperate mesures? Hey, awesome video I loved it. Please keep the work up as i love your content and your ideas they are just amazing.
    but.. i do have a question.
    It's about tokyo ghoul as I've been binge watching your videos and rereading the manga for tokyo ghoul.
    so the question is how do you truly feel about tokyo ghoul? because i think it's just me being dumb but I'm confused if you really like it or you just hate it as it has wasted potential and if you do like it, how much?
    I'm really sorry for talking about tokyo ghoul in here as I feel that it might upset you but i just had to ask.
    keep the work love the videos and stay safe.

    I believe Eren is purposefully playing the villain here. I can't see his plan working out, destroying all of humanity is not only a worse outcome than driving just one ethnicity to extinction, but it's also very damaging to the planet in the way he's doing it, not to mention very hard and time consuming to do. So, just like when he antagonized Armin and Mikasa earlier in the arc he's now antagonizing the whole world, making himself the enemy that everyone hates, he's the Devil, not the Eldians, Him.
    Having declared that kind of attack there's no doubt that the people of Paradis won't be supporting him fully, Armin was already second guessing Eren's intentions right before he put every Eldian into his Discord Server and delivered the bombshell. So Eren becomes the public enemy °1 for the whole world, and the world, including Marleyans, Paradisians and the rest of the countries have to work together to stop him, you can't just beat Eren without help from the likes of Levi, Mikasa and the rest of the still living shifters. Of course there has to be some destruction for the threat to be valid and Marley's gonna have to take the L there, but he's not likely to succeed in destroying the whole world, and I don't think he intends to anyway, he probably wants to die and take every Titan power along with him, finally freeing the Eldians, both from the the hate of the world and from the curse of the titans, he did swear that he'd destroy every last titan after all.
    Also 10 bucks says that Historia's gonna have a daughter, she's gonna be named Ymir and will likely be a reincarnation of the first Ymir, because of course.

    Honestly, I don't agree with Eren's plan nor do I think genocide is justifiable; however, I don't think Eren is inherently evil. Despite having seen the future, he desperately grasped at straws every chance he had - he kept looking for something that could prove what he had seen was somewhat fake. Even when Willy was giving his speech, he waited until the end to see if they would really declare war on Paradis. If they hadn't, maybe the attack on Liberio wouldn't have happened. He willingly went to the meeting and realized the hatred for Walldians wasn't exclusively from Marley, as the whole world bore the same feeling and everyone was ready to jump on them and completely annihilate Eldians. It has been also implied that nations outside of Marley are growing such a immense amount of hatred towards the Eldians that could surpass Marleys'.
    What we are seeing right now is the culmination of years and years of stress and desperation from Eren. It has been shown, countless of times, that he does not want to kill anyone, that he does not agree with this; however, he believes he has to do it in order for his people to finally be free. Of course not everyone in the world hates Eldians and not everyone in the world should have to be a part of a war they didn't take any part in and genocide is NEVER justifiable, but Eren has been subjected to so much shit and this is a completely desperate attempt for freedom. He's lost himself, which is completely understandable considering a 19 year old is shouldering the burden he is - at the end of the day, he just wants to keep his people safe.
    And I disagree when you say Zeke's plan was far better - morally - plan. Both plans are genocidal in nature, brought by their upbringings and the things they have seen.

    Nobody is a hero or a villain, it is upon us to decide.
    That being said let's remember that Eren is destroying the world that has been build on top of a little girl that has been denied her freedom, has been raped and abused. And then turned in a war mechanism for millennia. He does not want a world where that happens to anyone.

    Do note that the view of "The world is both cruel and beautiful" is a sentiment we've only heard from Mikasa and Bertholdt. Eren likely only sees the world as a cruel place, and blind to its beautiful side, drowned in his desire for freedom and justice.
    When he and Mikasa saw the foreign refugee child with his family, Mikasa and the others saw how happy the boy is with his family, while Eren could only see the suffering and injustice done to them by the world. Maybe that makes him a realist, but to have that bleak of a view on the world is very unhealthy for his psyche.
    Plus, Armin is literally seeing his dreams crushed underfoot. To see the world for what it is and discover new things. Good, bad, beautiful, ugly, Armin wants to see all of it. And now, it's all being crushed by his supposed best friend.

    The forces allied with Marley didn't show up because Reiner pushed for Marley to attack Paradis quickly, so I'm betting that this is a gamble on Eren's part to get the rest of the forces moving because a lot of the world has Eldian blood. All Eldians heard what Eren said. There's no way they're not freaking the fuck out and hauling ass to Paradis to kill him. The Colossal Titans and Eren wouldn't be able to reach the rest of the world quickly, if at all. What better way than to have them all come to him?

  • @daniell1483
    @daniell1483 5 лет назад

    Really interesting point of view. I doubt it is realistic, however. One of the warrior candidates, I forget which one, states that his family is from outside Marley and explicitly states that the other nations of the world treat the Subjects of Ymir even worse than Marley. The rest of the world is not less caustic towards the Subjects, it is more so. So if only Marley was destroyed, I don't see some sort of peace being established, no, I see the conflict escalating further. A war where there can only be one outcome: genocide on one side or the other, just a matter of which would be eradicated. That is part of what makes this story so fascinating. Our modern sensibilities are screaming to give peace a chance but as we see in ch 123 and back with the attack on the Tibur family, humanity in Attack on Titan has repeatedly given its answer to the call for peaace: Absolutely not.

  • @mr.9909

    ... Um...
    I am pretty sure it is clear the whole world hates eldians. "Everyone in the world wishes for the same thing... -To kill every last eldian." "Our enemy is indeed... the world itself." They have said the countries are constantly at war with each other, we have only seen Marley which is the superpower of the world. And the theme of fighting against the world has been made clear throughout the story like with Historia's story. Even since the beginning (which sets up the themes of the rest of the story), the world has been a cruel and dangerous place where you hunt or are preyed upon. And that's why Eren had it.
    So yeah, not your best video, but it was a simple misunderstanding. I will be interested in seeing what you have to say in your future videos.
