ASUS isn't sorry that they're overcharging customers for warranty repairs. They're sorry that they got caught for doing so and having to suffer the brand repercussions of the ensuing PR firestorm.
exactly! “we’re sorry we got caught. after a week or two we will go back to our normal crap lol”
yup. same thing EK did...they got bad publicity that got viral & they said "sorry".
"we're sorry you saw that. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to ensure that the next time we do this, you won't find out"
😂
"In US and Canada"
I knew from the beginning this was an American problem. ASUS has been accepting warranty replacements from me when it was clearly my own idiocy that had caused the problems. They spent hours on remote desktop troubleshooting my network setup to help figure out what the issue was with a particular wireless speaker. They eventually hit me with an email asking me to update to fix the issue.
When was the last time a hardware developer reached out to you in order to resolve a problem specific to you? Me neither, and that's why I'm sticking with ASUS. Because they're still providing the support quality they are known for in Denmark, and the rest of the world outside America, I'm guessing.
I could understand Microsoft's want to put ads in Windows if it was restricted to just unlicensed copies, but that crap should stay out of any copy that has been verified as licensed.
I say let them continue to enshittify Windows until it drives people to other options. The only thing that Microsoft will actually listen to is their market share shrinking.
Strongly agree with this one. Any paid OS should give a TRUE premium experience and all the ads should be only limited to free/unregistered version
Don't they necessarily want you to not use those at all
@@talkashiewindows is far from the thing that makes them the most money now. They don’t care that much at this point. But they are still superior for the everyday user and most gaming. Until Mac gets better for gaming or Linux gets easier for the layman to setup and use, Windows it is.
If people have to hire a tech guy just to install their OS on a computer than had windows already and they could be using for no extra money or time, they won’t switch to Linux. It’s just the truth
Here is the thing.

I was a windows fan boy for 20 years. I even defended vista back in the day. But every iteration after 7 has disappointed me. It doesn’t make sense to use windows anymore, especially since you can run most windows applications on Linux now
And they have the audacity to ask $200 for license key!
Asus apologising right before product release. I obviously believe Asus now and will buy all their products.
right? what can go wrong???
Microsoft read Ready Player 1 and didn't hear the satire in stating that the user can tolerate 80% of their screen being ads before quitting.

Google paying to "make it go away" is so a precedent isn't set in court, opening them up to other lawsuits that will use the ruling from this case, and not having a jury of people that HATE ads, being forced on them in every facet of life, sitting there judging you, wouldn't be a good thing.

@@Wockes Literally true. It's impossible to wait backwards in time.
Can't believe Microsoft is trying so hard to make sure Windows 10 is the last good OS they'll ever make. Honestly I was delaying upgrading to it because I thought it wasn't ready yet but I see its a downgrade, I don't even care if we lose "security patches" next year I might as well just switch to Linux
Unless you really need software that doesn't run on Linux, it's a much calmer OS, and easier to administer even than Windows 10. I am not any kind of tech person; I just find nice, comfortable Linux Mint just gets in the way less.
XD windows 10 isn't good either.
the last good windows OS was windows 7, and it still is.

Well, Asus also promised GN they'd fix their processes a year ago, so...color me skeptical.
Only thing A-SUS will do after this fiasco on future RMAs is do some real damage to your ROG Ally/GPU, etc after they receive it to really justify their scalping "repair" costs. Or just send you a photo of someone else's.
I did FSR3 and DLSS in Cyberpunk simultaneously (OF COURSE, with mods) and yeah it was a kick ass experience. Best of both worlds getting 100 fps on maxxed settings (no RT since 3060 lol). Glad to see a studio finally do that in a official release.

6:38 "What have you done" got me laughing on the train
So when the last Hubble servicing mission left, they attached a docking collar to its base in case something like this came up so no robot arm needed.
The Dragon capsule has one docking port, which, in Polaris Dawn's case, would instead be used as door for the spacewalk rather than for docking capabilities. The side hatch is bolted shut prior to launch after the astronauts have entered, which rules out any possibility for using that for a space walk. Therefore you'd still need a robot arm to attach to Hubble. I wouldn't rule out an unpressurized cargo bay could be used for a robot arm, but then you'd be throwing money away as that bay would burn up in the atmosphere.

1.5 Petabytes of data in 1 cubic millimeter of brain is WILD. Shows that the larger the scale of a network the stronger it becomes.
It's not what it meant. You could have stored even a higher res image of brain in 999 petabytes. Or 999 yotta bytes. Doesn't mean brain has that much of information. It's just the resolution they chose to scan the brain that made it 1.5petabytes. maybe brain has info of only 1gb (if the memories in brain and computer are distantly similar), but still scanning and mapping the brain can take any size depending on the quality you choose
To be fair, I assume there must be a way to parse this data and do almost-lossless compression on it. This is like electron-scanning the groves on a vinyl record and saving it as high res photos.
