You need an electric fence for the city Council members.
I live on six acres in rural central Maine. I don't have fences to protect my property and livestock. I use hot lead. Works great.
Can you put the hot lead on top of a block wall? Where would you get the hot lead? Thank you!

This was the city not an HOA likely if she hadn't put that barb wire 6 foot high fence no one would have noticed the electric fencing.

I am a Dutchman from Holland, Europe. What kind of nonsens is that that a woman is not allowed to protect her dogs against wild animals and not hurting anyone else in the process? The government here in Holland wouldn't get away to declare such nonsens upon their own citizens.

First off she did the electric fence all wrong, she could have easily concealed it and just ran a live wire 1 inch off her current chain link fence and used the chain link as ground, that is the proper way to set up a predator fence, she set up a livestock fence, no one would have had a clue except the coyotes

She has the right to protect herself her family and her pets. They wild animals, no different then a bear or Mountain Lion. What if her grandchildren are out there when they showed up? Or even just walking from the car to the house? She shouldn't be allowed to kill the animals and she's not trying too. She should be allowed to fence off her property in my opinion. For the record, I'm a coyote fan, they're one of God's amazing creatures.

They look like our friendly canines but in reality they're wild animals. They see meat, they take it. They don't know they're cutting into the livelihood of ranchers, they just see meat. If one of my buds never took an initiative to eradicate the coyote problem around his ranch, him and his family would be destitute.

I have seen horizontal roll rails at the top of fence instead of barbed wire work very effectively. To avoid the digging under fence lay 1-2 foot wide slight angled down under ground, they hit the fence digging and stop. [ but the problem is she would be doing that on her neighbors yard side.]

look up "coyote roller". it's rolling pole you instal on the top of fences and it prevents the coyotes from hopping over the fence.

I live in the country where there are no neighborhood rules or neighborhoods for that matter. I can shoot critters from my deck if they are interfering with my livestock. Love that country life - Laisse Faire

This is why you should never leave your dogs or other pets outside unattended. I live in a very rural area that is full of foxes, coyotes, and other predatory animals and since I have small dogs I never just leave them out by themselves.

She is not killing the coyotes. Coyotes usually stay away from humans but as humans go more into their area, well then you are going to have encounters. Here in Texas they can get big and they will eat your cats and dogs. You should be able to protect your property.

Coyotes are not tanks like hogs.. The corral trap works on hogs. The energized fence would work on yotes.
Is it legal to set traps and shoot coyotes? That's what I did when a coyote started living in my yard, and chasing my pets, but I live in Texas, and not a member of a HOA.

We took their land ..their home. They have nowhere to go. Food sources are depleted. We can't coexist with them as they are smarter and we will continue to suffer losses. When the incidents of kids being hurt or killed starts increasing it will be grounds for a lawsuits because you are not allowed to defend yourself or property. My opinion.

This is the way that Game and Fish in our state gets rid of coyotes .
They take sponges cut them in 2x2 squares soak them in bacon grease . Then throw them out in the area of coyotes. 3 days later they die. No more problems.

Good comment. I think it may be that there are more who want these Representatives than don't, or possibly, those who don't are too apathetic when it's time to vote. Many people don't care until something touches their life.

Barbed wire is ugly and dangerous . I sure wouldn't like to live next door to those ugly fences. I find that electric fences keep out all sorts of mountain lions, bobcats and coyotes without all those other ugly fences she has and you hardly notice it. I also am very conservative and don't want our liberties taken away by snowflake govt agencies. There must be a compromise here.
I would point a rifle with a silencer out the window and do my own protecting.
she did it to herself for setting that electric fence so far away from the main fence and making it more of a hazard than "protection". she could have put 1 wire 8-12" away 6 -12" off the ground and nobody would have noticed it. 3+ wires 4+ feet high is overkill and no WARNING signs to top it off
Might just need to put a wire canopy over the yard. Or get a good PCP Airgun to drop the Coyote. The best solution might just get to Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog, or a Caucasian Shepherd Brute to protect your toy breeds.
