Its a modern airframe. Lots of parasitic drag eliminated. Lots of smoothening and streamlining the fuselage and wings. Modern ammenities. Modern fuel efficiency. Unlike the 40, 50, 70 year old designs we're used to seeing. Cubs, cessnas, mooneys and the like. What you speak of should have been the present *decades* ago. Not the future now. :(
Wow, far cry from my old Schweitzer 2-22 and 1-26's. Never flew a Glaßflügel though! How sweet is this: no aero-tow to 1500 or 2000 and pulling the red ball to disconnect upper right with the tow performing a split-S downward left! Ausgezeichnet.....wenn ich nur dort wäre! Ich hab' alles genoßen...Vielen Dank!
At 0.16 seconds there is either a woman whispering into the camera or something that sounds exactly like that. Its after the adorable baby says something cute as all hell.

never easy to get the news ,,,, i met Rudy taking a blanik glider ride, i think he towed us up in a citabria, it was awesome. a few years later i flew in a vivat l13 motorglider that Rudy sold to a good friend ,, he flew about 500 hrs in it {i got around 60 hr rightseat flying in it} it was a incredible experience,,,, i remember thinking about Rudy and how happy he must be having the opportunity to fly the stemme ,,, in short ,,,, so very few get to do what they really love to do,,,,,,, Rudy did !!
today existing electric powered gliders perfectly capable of taking off without need for towing, why a polluting engine? so it means a plane more than a glider
Electric powered sailplanes provide thrust for about 15min. A Stemme can run its Rotax engine all day, if you really needed it. So, it doesn't just get you in the air, it's there in case the weather turns, and you never have to land out. The glide ratio is 50:1...legit performance for a modern sailplane.
I think the future of flight is solar powered gliders with small electric engines for take-off

Jim Fowler I hear you, S2-22 on a winch is how I learned to fly. The good old times 🙂

wowy... beats the heck out of a tow plane

I would like to see the propeller shaft and how they handled the engineering challenges
Torsional resonances, what I have read, is often ignored, difficult to recognize and hard to design for.
Been looking at these and thinking the same thing.
Interesting design.
They're not going to show you there shaft, whatsamatta U
@@JohnDoe-jn4ex crazy talk. Lol
Why am I thinking of a Lockheed U2 espionage and reconnaissance jet?
Wow great plane and design they need to take this to a much bigger level on bigger planes the prop design
That's the neatest glider.
Cool👍
When did you take this footage? Looks great. The plane and pilot are soaring high in heavens for quite some time, unfortunately.
Powered sailplane - Fantastic !!
goodjob
Tan bonito el avión 😍 y en qué país será ?
Canada
For S10 Glider, why not design dehydral wing ?
Why does the sound cut off for footage inside the aircraft? there should be engine noise at start, and then wind noise, at least
Iove..u...Fc..2019..มันสวยงาม..มาก..มาก..สุดยอด
ths is a grate glider
It is indeed
More rudder please. Might just be parallax error, but the telltale on the windshield looks like it is not centred very often...
Could it be the airflow off the prop
Having a $300,000 glider doesn't mean you know how to fly it.
@@jssmallcal3165Having the necessary glider ratings for it means you do.

This is not a glider.
This is a airplane

it consumes a lot of energy
strange glider lol
If it seemed as if your aeroplane was flying rather odd it is because the engine quit running. Just saying.

What?! Rudy passed away???

Pilot glider need license to fly?
Yes
That's no glider, it's got an engine and prop. Hilarious
Still has the glide ratio and capabilities of a glider.
