There may not be any Hetfield "yeeaaahh!"s on the studio version but in concert I'm sure its peppered with them. ...Justice is my favorite album from them, lots of hidden gems on there. It's a cold, bleak, dry album that was "oddly" engineered but features some of the most complex song structures they'll ever write, which is what speaks to me.
I started listening to Metallica when Ride the Lightning came out, but I consider "And Justice For All," to be "my" Metallica album, if that makes sense. Jason Newstead handed me a beer in a solo cup from the stage. I think I had just turned 17. So good.
'Crash Course In Brain Surgery' has the second best YEAH in their catalog (at least to me- 'Fuel' is first). There's also some 'Yeahs' in songs like 'Helpless' and 'Four Horsemen'. But you are right, the bulk of 'yeahs' didn't happen until the 90s. i think 'Load/ReLoad' has more 'yeahs', making up for the whole catalog!
My 1st time seeing Metallica was on the Monsters of Rock tour. Kingdom Come ,Dokken , Metallica , The Scorpions and Van Halen . You can ask anyone who saw that tour that it was Metallica's message to the world that they had arrived and in the mood to kick every ass they saw. They blew every band on the bill off the stage. This song was the preview to the new album that wasn't released yet. My friends and I looked at each other and said well if the rest of the album is like this we are in for a major ass kicking . We weren't disappointed . And Justice For All was probably the last true Metallica thrash album as The Black album only had moments of thrash.
I seen them for the 1st time on that tour too. My area's lineup was Metallica, Van Halen and the headliner was Iron Maiden. I think I was 9 years old at the time. This show literally shaped my life.
It was Harvester of Sorrow. Saw them on 2 shows on the Monsters of Rock tour and they played Harvester. They did blow everyone off stage. The LA Coliseum was insane. About 15,000 people rushed the stage. Eventually, they pulled the power on Metallica 3 songs in because it gor dangerous with all the chaos.
It's about the end of the world. When they say "watch our mother die", they're talking about Mother Earth! It's an apocalyptic song! One of their best songs from an album that a lot of people still give them shit for (and unjustly, might I add). Also, wanna correct you guys on one thing. This song is off of And Justice for All, the same album as One and Harvester of Sorrow, in 1988.

So I think they don't remember all the riff changes and time changes, but they remember the songs and how they go. They're a great band but they're just no professional musicians in form of knowing how to read notes, time stamps and so on.
Metallica is in my 5 favorite bands of all time, even though I'm not even into metal - they're the only metal band I've ever liked - and albums 2-4 (and some of 5) are the only albums I like. When I discovered them at 13 my favorite music was classical. That was exactly what made me love them, everything on those albums sounded to me more like compositions than rock songs. I could listen over and over again, getting lost in the chord structures and alignments of rhythms between the instruments, just like I would when listening to classical pieces. They would elicit powerful swells of emotion just as I would get from Bach, Brahms, Handel or Rachmaninov. A few years later when S&M came out I was thrilled, I couldn't imagine a better pairing and that's the only other of their albums I enjoy. All these years later, they still have the same effect on me, even though most other music from my youth has gotten stale. Whether they knew it or not, they were channeling some real musical genius in those years.

No you dont no always what you want WHIT metallica... The last 20 years they are not METAL !!! 5 albums 21 guitare solo ( " not real number " and its Just exemple that Kirk not exist has soloist but just as rythm )
As far as guitar goes, you're not memorizing time signatures, you're memorizing the riffs themselves until its muscle memory. Then it becomes second nature to where you don't even think about it, you just feel it.
As a (West)Berlin born human I can say for a fact that at the time the song was written the nuclear threat was not only real but also subject in many songs of that time. Not only Metallica ones. But I never heard of that album "Blackened" 😁 I heard this song on "And justice for all". Funfact: It has the same cover as your "Blackened" album 🤣
After Cliff died, Lars hazed the new guy, Jason Newsted, by turning his bass down so far in the mix it's barely audible. It's his band, so I guess he can do what he wants, but spoiling an otherwise perfect album forever was a stupid & petty thing to do. There are fan made versions with the bass boosted, or even re-recorded that sound so much better.
The album was “And Justice For All”, came out in ‘88. Hence the album art showing lady justice broken. Blackened was the first song on the album and was written by Jason Newsted. This was his “first” album with Metallica as the new bassist after Cliff Burton died

All these years later, they still have the same effect on me, even though most other music from my youth has gotten stale.
Whether they knew it or not, they were channeling some real musical genius in those years.
James has more of a tendency to throw in a YEAH in a live show than in studio fellas just an FYI
BLACKENED = And Justice For All Album
It’s also the name of their whiskey, which I highly suggest you guys try it’s damn good
It’s from the Justice-album ‘88. Next one; Damage Inc. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘….it will blow you off your chairs 🔥🔥🔥
You owe me 5 bucks 🤣
Jesus Christ he doesn't start saying yeah till newer stuff. You won't find him saying that on kill them all and justice for all Ride the lightning or Master of puppets. And the song is off of the and justice for all album
1988 ...And Justice For All.
James cant resist his classic yeah signature ❤️ it
Jesus Christ guys, MetallicA is like one of the only bands that has a completely different sound on every single album...
And how do you get google wrong? Blackend is from an album Blackend from '89? SMH
LETS GO 100K! Been watching y’all for the past few months and y’all are goated🔥
No you dont no always what you want WHIT metallica... The last 20 years they are not METAL !!! 5 albums 21 guitare solo ( " not real number " and its Just exemple that Kirk not exist has soloist but just as rythm )
The “yeah” threshold is the Black Album.
Black album and later there’s high chance of “yeah”. Prior to that, low chance.
As far as guitar goes, you're not memorizing time signatures, you're memorizing the riffs themselves until its muscle memory. Then it becomes second nature to where you don't even think about it, you just feel it.
Please react to Behemoth
Blow your trumpets Gabriel
The Satanist
O' Father, O' Satan, O' Son
As a (West)Berlin born human I can say for a fact that at the time the song was written the nuclear threat was not only real but also subject in many songs of that time. Not only Metallica ones.
But I never heard of that album "Blackened" 😁 I heard this song on "And justice for all". Funfact: It has the same cover as your "Blackened" album 🤣
That wasn't an abrupt ending at all. It was perfect. And the large majority of Metallica songs don't have a 'yeah' in it, especially the old stuff.
White zombie. Is the king of the yeah
On this album, Metallica were so angry; they lost their bass player 1-2 years before that, so...
You guys, it's over 30 years old. AND Justice for All album. This one got the hook in me.
You should text to “Joey Jordison playing Creeping Death live with Metallica”
Damn, y'all should have done it from their iconic 1989 Seattle concert!! So much better!
No way Hollywood, he *never* said "yeah" and I shook on it... you owe me $5.00! No reneging! 🤨😛
If you want to get a curve ball from Metallica, try listening to songs from Load. King Nothing is awesome!
Metallicas biggest curveball is Mamma Said. I bet you never heard Metallica do Country 😂
More like LuLu 👍🏻
Reload, ill take a good country song over that album.
And the unforgiven part two
