I remember the first tornado I ever saw. April 1974 I was 7 years old and I was a little more than a mile north of Arrowhead estates where the Xenia Ohio tornado touched down. I did not know what it was and I was to young to understand but to this day I can still remember that remarkable green color of the sky. And I thought it was 3 tornadoes touching down next to each other. It was not until years later that I found out it was multiple vortices inside one tornado.

Thanks @ReedTimmerWx for putting this together!
I often wonder how the years compare historically vs how my memory perceives them... Example, as a small child I remember the years 1969 and 1970 as being unusually active in our part of Iowa, My Mom would actually put us to bed in the basement several times and she & Dad stayed up until the storm threat diminished...
I also remember 1981 as an unusually active year.

Reed has always been my favorite chaser, and thats why he is the only youtuber i choose to be a paid member of. I kinda of worry though, cause you watch his videos from 10 years ago and you see so much passion. I remember watching the episode of storm chasers where his team took a break for a day, and they missed a tornado just 50 some miles away. Reed was so pissed and swore he wouldn't miss another day of severe weather. Now 13 years later, i start to see his passion for storm chasing fading. Not saying he still doesn't love it or get adrenaline rushes from it, but you can tell by how often he chases and how easily he will call it a day after the first initial encounter with a tornado. Also i would think that durring the slow period of no severe storms, a chaser like Reed would get his equipment all figured out and have his car all checked out for any issues that may have been there durring storm season. Yet the other day he commented on how his bearings on car are going out and at around 60 mph the Dominator 4 starts shaking. So i worry that his passion is fading. This aint a me putting him down cause like i said, i pay to watch him chase, i just don't know if the goat is still the goat. I keep thinking he is going to announce his retirement from storm chasing. I hope not, but who knows. NSC... Reed

Really great stuff as per usual Team Dom! Great editing, graphics, science, etc. and I'm not just saying that because of the good numbers that you're predicting for my chase areas :). Looking forward to a potentially good 2024 season. Also, I'm super stoked to see that you're teaming up with a tool to help people get access to mental health resources. Mental health is such an important factor that is very largely overlooked. The number of patients I see that go to counseling just for "general wellbeing and upkeep" is awesome. I do it myself and am totally stoked to see someone with a platform like this continuing to break down that stigma of therapy and mental health.

Storm chasing is so cool You inspired me to become a tornado chaser reed, sadly I live in a country that gets 10-60 tornadoes per year and most of them are off the coast AKA waterspouts (I live in britain) there was a tornado down the Isle of Wight about a month ago I don’t know if it was a waterspout but it got me hyped! I’ve learnt lots on tornadoes and weather and I have always been on the lookout whenever a storm comes for any rotation even though it’s not likely. Keep up the good work and CHASE THOSE TORNADOES!!!

Thank you foe all that you all do in keeping us informed. There are often times that I follow you for weather when it is closed to where i live in Louisiana rather than local weather. The reason behind that has been that there are so many times our local weather has "cried wolf". I know it is impossible to know what weather is going to do, but when weather people say tornados for a week and you don't even hardly get an inch of rain it is hard to believe what they say.. I lived in central Oklahoma for thirty seven years, Cushing. One of the main known tornado alley towns. My brother was picked up off the ground as we were runnin to the shelter when we were little, so he gets terrified still when they hit. My family still lives in Cushing, but my husband and I moved to Broken Arrow in 2015 and have only seen four or five tornadoes and very weak. If you move to Oklahoma and don't wanna be a part of the strongest, stay out of Moore, Ok City, Shawnee, Chandler and Cushing alley. Bless y'all.

Not all hero’s wear capes man, you are the perfect example, the amount of time, dedication and sacrifices you take to provide us with information, and to keep us safe and well. I’m from Oklahoma I wasn’t around in 99, but direct family was impacted from that Moore tornado, and then I was in the 2013 tornado. Let me tell you if it wasn’t for your, and other meteorologist effort and passion in this stuff, I feel like my family line wouldn’t even exist. Anyways I really do appreciate all the hard work you do for all us in and out of tornado alley. GOD Bless Brother!

I’d love to hear his hurricane predictions. So far this year it was much less robust than the predictions.
