Hey Morrissey, I'm not Mexican but I'm South American (Part Ecuadorian and Colombian born in the USA to be specific) and I love you. Your music is magic.
Even though it may seem weird that Mexicans in California have taken to his music in some ways it kind of makes sense because there are many Latin Artists of the 50's, 60's & 70's that have touched on similar themes in their songs and who also have the artistic and dramatic flair that he has. Two that come to mind are Piero and Sandro.
I love how he has a portable record player I have one and am always thinking about upgrading to something a bit higher end but if a traveler is good enough for MOZ then I am set.
5:39 Jose Maldonado hosts a radio show on The Independent FM called Breakfast with The Smiths that you should all check out! He takes requests for both The Smiths songs and Morrissey songs.
The Hispanic lady remarking, "It's against everything our culture stands for." What I ask is how so? Mexican society was fast to pick up on Rock music early on with acts like Enrique Guzman & Cesar Costa in the early sixties, who did covers of American Pop hits in addition to producing some original material of their own. Just like many places in the world, when the Beatles and the Rolling Stones struck, they also hit big in Mexico. The admiration for British acts continues to this day.
Interesting to see the decor of Morrissey's house... rather eccentric, but almost seems like he meant it to look eccentric... 'Mad in craft'? Now I want to know what kind of pyjamas he wears :P
I can not understand why people are surprised with the love latin north americans feels for Morrissey. In all Latin America Morrissey is fanatically loved since the early eighties.
Lol I love all the comments about Mexican fans! , and sadly its surprising because of the stereotypes put on us, and yes I am another Mexican American Morrisey admirer Viva Morrisey!
''when you grow up latino in southern california, you feel like you're in a minority'' ???? feels a bit more like a fuckin majority. it's easier to find a burrito or a lowered impala than apple pie...
I was under the impression that Morrissey was more of a cat person. I think I saw one quote from him that said "dogs are smelly." So WHY does he have a dog? Riddle me THAT.
It is not "if he is so against animal cruelty" - he IS against animal cruelty. You're question is actually "why does Morrissey not completely fullfill all of my expectations of him while I myself make no contribution whatsoever?".
@CopyriteInfringement just some of his mannerisms and things he says in the bit where hes going round the house, i think if you put anyone on the spot with a camera to just talk about themselves they end up being a bit brentish.
Mr. Homophopic. If you watch closely at the end of the video, he talks about mexican people. I think is very charming to say what he said about them cause they're not any of that. Ay,ay,ay,ay...
Morrissey tiene su lado tierno, le gusta de todo menos la prensa ni la farandula. lo entiendo, odio a la prensa y a la farandula igual que él jejeje. los dos iguales. thanks for asking :D
What a dissapointment ! he lives in LA! he has a different speech as an artist and was a sophisticated one, how could he end up living in a cheesy , superficial , frivolous, light-minded place like LA ??
WELL MORRISSEY... WHAT ABOUT THE "LEATHER" IN YOUR CAR ? WHOSE SKIN WAS IT? :-( Tell me it is not and you had the company use a FAKE LEATHER material :-( ?
Well, he gets shoes custom made from faux leather, so why would he not get the car upholstered in faux leather? he's got the dollars to do it after all.
I love Morrissey sooo much, I want to give him a hug!
terribly nice, fantastic hair, fantastic skin and good teeth. Great combination!!!!!!!!!!!
This guy is just incredibly charming.
Hey Morrissey, I'm not Mexican but I'm South American (Part Ecuadorian and Colombian born in the USA to be specific) and I love you. Your music is magic.

The boy with the thorn in his side
Behind the hatred there lies
A murderous desire for love
The host with Toast!!!!!

I love that Moz lived here in SoCal for awhile.

I have one and am always thinking about upgrading to something a bit higher end but if a traveler is good enough for MOZ then I am set.

Bono is a genius, hence why is is consistently asked to comment on music documentaries. He is a good man.

''when you grow up latino in southern california, you feel like you're in a minority'' ????

@123jataylor haha in what way?
often the most miserable people are considered humorous, not to be considered clowns but again misunderstood..

What do Morrissey's dogs eat?

I've been thinking about this since I watched the documentary years ago.
Well, my hair is pretty sweet....

@CopyriteInfringement just some of his mannerisms and things he says in the bit where hes going round the house, i think if you put anyone on the spot with a camera to just talk about themselves they end up being a bit brentish.
