@@NelsonVlog66 Yes... how fortuitous that was, eh?
I remember the Show Helltown. I never watched it, but I can still hear the repetitive ending of it's themesong echoing in my head.
"Helltown... Helltown... Helltoooown!" I never knew Baretta was in it. I don't recall it lasting long... maybe a season or two at most?
David Addison.WAS Bruce Willis. Blake had the chops for the role as scripted, and was an interesting enough actor in his own rite... But Willis had 10 times the charisma, and nobody else could have played the role as he reformed it.
And just imagine the chemistry that might've been between Robert and Cybil.... lackluster at best. Bruce totally lit her up, at least early on... and she turned him on too.
Shame they became such children towards the end of the show, but what can ya do.

When I first saw this scene, it blew my mind, and though I already adored him as the funny David, I came to respect him even more as the vulnerable, genuine David. There's hardly a thing he can't do, and yet he's unbelievably underrated as an actor, even by himself it seems, given his current films. He's hardly given any time to just BE in the moment anymore as in Moonlighting..

@@thomasitataylor6450ol, it didn’t necessarily have to be happy, it was just weird and ugly and not fair to the loyal audiences around the world or however far the show traveled. I remember people were really dedicated to this couple, but the ending was just insane lunacy! I understand the writers were having a strike and I know that it made ending it with some warmth and some class made it much more difficult. That’s truly why everybody watch the show, for the most part, was to see these two finally get together. It didn’t have to be perfect. I didn’t have to be trite or predictable, just makes some sort of sense. We all deserved much more and to this day there’s plenty of people, not just myself, but probably thousands upon thousands of people that are still sad when they think about moonlighting and how it had to end.

@@bigbandsrock1This is precisely why I stopped a couple episodes into S5 and won’t continue. I was too young to remember how it ended and I don’t need another fictional heartbreak under my belt, especially one from 35 years ago. Just knowing it wasn’t good for them is bad enough. Maddie really put David through the meat grinder and I really wanted some payoff for getting through that.

Im sorry about this afternoon, about what I said about the way I said it.Believe it or not, Out of this whole mess, its a tie between things that I did right and things that I did wrong.
Do you have any idea about how I feel about your daughter? I work with here there, at the same office every day, Every day I see another guy come in and tell me his wife packed the car, left him forever and he wants us to get the car back.
Then i look over at her, there she is just sitting there. 4 Billion people in the world half of them built for comfort and I choose this one to want to grow old with.
but thats not good enough for her. She needs time, I have to wait for this one. And maybe you’re right, maybe she’s right, maybe i AM wrong but I don’t think so… I have had to chop myself up into little pieces, my pride, my personality… Everything that I am into little squares for this woman!
I tried to wear the white hat, I went over to her house one night, heart on my sleeve, cards on the table. Im gonna tell her I love her, I want to marry her, I want to promise her the moon… and excuse me… theres another man there. … thats right.. theres another man there… its okay this is the new millennium… so I waited for her… i waited for her to make up her mind,.. whether she wants him or she wants me… and she finally does… just as I thought… we spend a great month together.
I wake up one morning and she’s gone… boom…out just like that. Next thing I know she’s at your house. The next news I hear is she’s pregnant… with a baby that may or may not be mine… okay, she’s confused, she wants to go away… she doesn’t know who the father is, I understand that… but she wasn’t even gonna tell me.
So what do I do? I stayed at hime and I waited.. because she told me to… I wait and I wait and I wait! you know why? Because I love her! because Im crazy about her!
Marry her? Hell yes I’d marry her… I asked her, she said no… so don’t come around here making me the villain, don’t blame this on me. Marry her? Do I love her? Mr. Haze, I’d give up my life for her.
It’s over, All this… this craziness, this attitude, it’s all done. I didn’t come here to tell you your daughter is a bad guy, but I’m not a bad guy either. You said to me today that I was giving up on her and the baby… no I wasn’t, I wasn’t giving up on them, I was giving up on myself. Well thats done, it’s over, if this thing is gonna work, this whole relationship, this whole thing with me and her, the baby, all of it, if it’s gonna work, she needs to come and talk to me now.
    Thank you for listening.

That right there shows what a phenomenal actor Bruce could be when given the opportunity. In comedy and drama is where he always belonged. I really liked Die Hard, Bruce and Alan Rickman were marvelous together but I wish he hadn't gotten typecast as an "action hero." Bruce could have done more Sixth Sense style films in drama and done Harry Met Sally or Bringing Up Baby romantic style comedies. He was charming, clever, endearing and oh so very funny on this show as David Addison. David was the lovable goof, lover of all things Motown and, in truth, though he'd never was to admit it while hanging out with the guys, David was a sweet, tenderhearted guy and just a complete hopeless romantic at heart. He made me laugh through some difficult years in my mid teens. I'll always be grateful for that and that Cybil's temp went up in their screen test together. David Addison was what every girl wanted in a guy and though David was on the page, Bruce made him live in vivid colors and added so much of his own personally and interests (like playing the harmonica) to David. Anyway, wishing Bruce the very best with what he's going through now and lots of love and little moments of joy and peace forevermore. ❤

If Dave and Maddie had just stayed friends and co-workers. We might still be watching new episodes of Moonlighting right now. LOL 🤣

It aired on December 15, 1987, as part of the show's fourth season. The fifth season would be "Moonlighting's" last.

love David addison,,, but why did this show go from a screwball romantic comedy to a sopa opera?

Because creator Glen Caron gave into the pressure of mostly, though not all, female fans who were clamoring to have Maddie and David finally "get together". After two failed pilots he didn't want to have this success shortened over his loyal viewership giving up on the show, so all this happened. It did turn into a soap opera for quite a while. What's so funny and sorta pathetic is Caron left the show after season 4. They tried to right the ship, but that ship had sailed and they couldnt bring back the magic. Caron to this day insists that's not why the show eventually failed, but that's his ego talking, not the truth.

Great acting on bruise Willis part in moonlighting.... He wanted too marry Mattie..... He loves her... But when Glen Gordon creator of moonlighting Caron left the show! They had her marry someone else.... Because she was pregnant with Sam's Baby! But it was actually David's.....They said season 4 of moonlighting went downhill because Cybil was pregnant in real life with twins... But I like some of the episodes in season 4......

I am just rewatching the whole series. Bruce carries Season 4. Cybill is a drag on the Season. Get her scenes over and get back to Bruce
