That’s been my favorite doors song since I can remember, but I never realized how brilliant the guitar work was. What imagination. Thanks for the lesson, brilliant as well.
Those verse guitar parts are one of the coolest things I’ve ever heard on guitar. I’ve played it in my head years before I ever even played a guitar. Robby Kriegers definitely one of the reasons I started playing guitar. Thanks for this tutorial man, it’s been sorely missed on RUclips!
I'm a bass guitar teacher who has like one lead guitar student. He got casted on this song. You basically saved my ass; and his but mostly mine. Thanks!
Always been one of my favorite Doors songs. Came across it late in college back in the 80s. Surprised it didn't get more airplay. Peace from Dallas JF FYI This was inspired by a book that JM was obsessed about botched and back alley abortions. Grim stuff.
Thank you sooo much✊🏼❤️🎸 Your way of playing the G. chord (G5! With the B and e String) HELPS ME A LOT❗️❤️) Robby Krieger is a nice and sympatico guy, without any bullshit 🙃 ✊🏼Thank you, UND GESUND BLEIBEN, GRÜSsE AUS WIEN❤️🎸
Just take the plectrum/pick away.... 😁 nah, for sure a fantastic tutorial for this amazing piece of music! Was playing this one in a covers band twenty years ago. Great fun 👍
I know this vid is over 5 years old, and its been a great help for me to learn this. The only error is the two parts in the tab section right before the D7sus4. it should be on the A and G string and not the D and B string.
Thomas is an incredible guitar performer.....we are very curious on who he admires as guitar players, writers/composers, performing artist, etc. in the various genres of music from which he draws on for his channel content.
Great lesson! I gotta ask, though... What kind model strat/ kind of pickups are you using? Which amp/ pedals? I ask as your tone and play is only video I've found on RUclips that had that tone and snap that Robbie Krieger had in the original recording and you used a Strat to do it. I'm impressed!
It was titled 'Peace Frog' as it was about an affair Jim had with a woman who ended up having to abort the baby, and the sadness they both felt about the ordeal.
Amazing job at breaking this down, BUT... @ 5:58 the TAB indicates the B and D strings being played (8th and 6th frets, respectively. Then 5th and 3rd frets, respectively). It should be the G and A strings being played at the corresponding frets.
My friend who plays in a doors tribute band doesn’t use a pick They’re called the burning doors He’s perhaps the best Rob Krieger I’ve heard 😩 He showed me 20th Century Fox Sounded just like it
Man,this thing about playing without a pick is ALWAYS on shows. In studio the guitar and bass players in the old days recorded using a pick because the strings ring became more evvident

Some kind of frogs produce a secretion that can cause hallucinations if you ingest it. I'm not sure, but...

0:42... Easy to mute G in barr chord.
Middle finger Between D and G strings to mute the G.

Desde Argentina gracias
Your teaching is great 👍🎶🎸 Happy New
Fantastic Bro 😊🙏👍✝️♎☸
Struggling to find the settings for the guitar, trying to play the strumming part but it sounds too high pitch on my guitar (yes its in tune)
Remember Robbie plays without a hard pick and finger picks everything
It was titled 'Peace Frog' as it was about an affair Jim had with a woman who ended up having to abort the baby, and the sadness they both felt about the ordeal.
Great lesson with great tone! What amplifier and/or pedals are used in this video?
Thanks 이강원 , I didn't use an amplifier for this video, but an app called guitarrig :)
wow you played it as it is :>
Changeling please)
Question: What would the underlying chords be on the chorus beginning with, " "She came into town..."
A++
I have watched Robby kriger play this q million times he uses no pick all with his fingers
And all ur pick scratching is on 15 fret
Do one on soul kitchen
could you play open g string also?
wow.. respect for play this..
please do a tutorial of How to play now you know by hilary duff , please I beg you on my knees
7:37
L.A. Woman please!
I love that song!!!!!
Good idea man! L.A. woman is an honest to God masterpiece!
You sound like Donovan lol edit: your speaking voice does
Amazing job at breaking this down, BUT... @ 5:58 the TAB indicates the B and D strings being played (8th and 6th frets, respectively. Then 5th and 3rd frets, respectively). It should be the G and A strings being played at the corresponding frets.
I'm glad some one pointed this out I knew something was wrong
OK. Now do it without a pick. Like Robby did.
My friend who plays in a doors tribute band doesn’t use a pick They’re called the burning doors He’s perhaps the best Rob Krieger I’ve heard 😩 He showed me 20th Century Fox Sounded just like it

Waterboy
The Doors frequently use riffs that you would hear in circus, calliope music. Seems fitting. 🤘😎
PRECISE.
My hands are too small to play the g5 chord
Bigger fish to fry learn the chords then learn the leads
Interlude section is wrong by a string look me a second to figure out x
The notes on the egg shell section are wrong.
Happy New Year 🎩🎸🍻🎙️🍷
